ASABE Club Meeting
Tuesday, March 3rd, 6:00 p.m., 103 Ag Engineering
The upcoming meeting is on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:00 PM in Agriculture Engineering Room 103. There will be Noodles and Company and hearing about Advance Drainage Systems from Kevin Hendrickson. There will be disscusions of an upcoming tour to Kenworth and club social.

The Industry Advisory Council invites CSM students to attend a night of networking as the spring semester winds down!

Scholarships
Almanac/McGurk Scholarship
Due March 6th
The Center for Real Estate hosts a scholarship fund for veteran/military students who are interested in real estate including those in Fisher, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Arts & Sciences, etc. The fund is $50,000 and student awards must be a minimum of $10,000.

Applicants must be military-connected students (excluding military dependents) who demonstrate financial need and plan to pursue a career in real estate. First preference will be given to students with combat experience and/or service in the Coast Guard.

Simpson Strong-Tie Student Scholarship
Due March 13th
Eligible students must be incoming juniors/seniors and enrolled in either Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management fields of study.

RCI-IIBEC Foundation Scholarship Program
Due April 9th
The RCI-IIBEC foundation has available scholarship programs for students who are currently enrolled in studies of architecture, construction, building sciences, or engineering related to building sciences.

Ohio EPA Scholarship
Due April 15th
Eligible students must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0, provide letters of recommendation and evidence of career motivation. The scholarship is avaliable for students from a wide range of majors.

Ohio No-Till Council
Due May 1st
Five scholarships are being awarded ranging from $500-$1,000. These are o pen to children and grandchildren from a farming background, who are enrolling or are currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year accredited college program. Scholarships are open to all incoming freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior students.

FABENG 3171 (Computer Graphics Using AutoCAD) now available ONLINE for Summer Semester 2020
FABE students, do you want to complete one of your courses from home during the Summer?  FABENG 3171 (Computer Graphics Using AutoCAD) is now available  ONLINE this Summer semester. 

The registration number is 21935.  Summer registration begins on Monday, February 17.

  • Complete the course in 8 weeks (Session 2) from 6/2/2020 to 7/24/2020
  • All work is done from home, there are no on campus meetings
  • The AutoCAD software is available to students for FREE
  • All course material is provided online in Carmen 
  • No textbook purchase required

Research Opportunities
TEK8 Summer Research Position
Complete Survey by March 4th
In TEK8, undergraduate OSU engineering students participate in immersive, paid summer research experiences in engineering faculty laboratories. In the fall, students take ENGR 4850 where they use their research as the foundation to teach the engineering design process and provide awareness of engineering careers to underserved middle school students via design challenges. Composting Pilot Program
Complete Survey by March 4th
The goal is to make the Parker Dairy Store "Zero Waste" by redirecting 90% or more trash away from landfills. In order to make this success, the Dairy Store would like to know the consumers' attitudes toward composting.

Pronouns and Pronunciations in CarmenCanvas
Take advantage of two different CarmenCanvas tools that make your learning experience more personal. In Canvas Account Settings, you will now find a simple, yet powerful pronoun field. You can designate your personal pronouns, which appear in places like People and Discussions. If enabled in your course, you can also use NameCoach to record your name pronunciation, helping your instructor properly address you in class.

Volunteering Opportunity for The Playhouse Project
The Playhouse Project is a program that will allow Habitat MidOhio to partner with sponsors to build playhouse for local families, providing children with a safe place to play and imagine what home means to them. They are currently seeking skilled craftsmen, wood workers, and individuals that are comfortable with basic power tools to volunteer to help make this initiative a success!
