Government Affairs Committee Update
March 5, 2021
On Monday, March 1st, the Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee received legislative updates from Senator Ray Scott, Western Slope Regional Director, Hogan Peterson for Congresswoman Boebert’s office, Representative Janice Rich, and Representative Matt Soper.

The committee reviewed and discussed House and Senate Bills and took a position on the following: 

Concerning the requirement that the costs associated with the reintroduction of gray wolves in the state be paid exclusively from the general fund. 
The FACC GAC motions to support this bill 
 
Concerning the authorization for certain alcohol license holders to offer alcoholic beverages for consumption off the licensed premises.  
The FACC GAC motions to support this bill 
 
Concerning public projects supervised by the department of transportation that is subject to the “Construction Bidding for Public Projects Act”. 
The FACC GAC motions to monitor this bill with the idea of supporting if the threshold is lowered 
 
Concerning the valuation of property related to renewable energy for purposes of the property tax.
