Collaborative Pulse

Our Notes to Practice Group Leaders

November 2025

President’s Message

We find ourselves on the cusp of the Holiday Season with Thanksgiving at our doorsteps. I find it fitting that we first give thanks. I am very grateful for the first half of my term and having been able to work with my collaborative colleagues in trying to make a difference in the world of our professionals and the public when it comes to divorce. And I look forward to continue this work with exciting news to follow in this edition of the Pulse.

VIRTUAL CONFERENCE

In speaking with so many of you since taking office, I have found extreme disappointment by our members when they discovered we were unable to have a full conference this coming spring. It was unfortunate that fiscally, it was not doable. And don’t believe I was not disappointed, as well.

So, the next best thing to a live conference is to have a virtual conference with live mini-watch parties spread around the state as an option. The Board has approved of this virtual endeavor and plans are being made to put the finishing touches together.

The way it will work is that FACP will provide three giant virtual webinars taking place on the third Friday of each month, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We have limited this to mornings to allow folks to plan the remainder of their days for work, if they wish and also not become boring watching several individual virtual sessions in a two day span. We will have either two (2) 90 minute webinars or a combination of up to three (3) webinars for each time period with additional time allowed for announcements, personal breaks and other brief presentations.

Added to this is the concept of a mini-conference where members from practice groups around the state can get together, based on geography, to view the presentations on a large screen and then attend a social event put on by a host practice group. The idea is to have practice groups combine with each other in a geographical locations that will be as convenient as possible for as many of our members to congregate, similar to a social function at a live conference. We are looking at North, South, Central and West, but there is room for additional mini-conferences as practice groups decide.

This gives the practice groups hosting the event an opportunity of drawing a significant number of members to this social function, some of whom may be professionals the practice group wishes to invite to become new members of their groups. Planning for each mini would be left to the discretion of each hosting practice group.

The cost for registration is anticipated to be $350 for the package of up to nine credit hours of education with a lot of very interesting topics with speakers not limited to Florida presenters. Watch for the initial brochures announcing the dates and a list of topics that will be covered, all of which we will apply for approved CLE’s and CME’s.

TO PRACTICE GROUP LEADERS

Please get in touch with me about hosting your geographical min-conference and which month you wish to have the function. We will try and spread the dates around so that we can have live participants attend your particular mini-gathering. And FACP is here to help you with organizing your parties.

GRAND ROUNDS AND FACP PROGRAMMING

If your practice group is not participating and your members are not logging in to Grand Rounds, you and your members are missing out on taking part in some excellent presentations.  And if you are not publicizing the FACP programming, in addition to Grand Rounds, you are not helping to keep your members informed of some valuable educational programming. The FACP website has an events calendar. Please make sure your members are aware of the upcoming events of FACP.

I wish everyone a delicious Thanksgiving celebration. Be safe during the holiday.

Jeff Wasserman,

FACP President
