April 30, 2025

Dear Father Allouez Catholic School Families,

We did it! We all made it through the NFL Draft! If you have any great pictures of you with your family at the draft events that you would be ok with sharing and us having up on social media, please let us know as we would love to feature our families and students enjoying themselves at this historic event! As for us in the Dempsey household, we made it down for two of the three days and enjoyed the activities - we even ran into a few families including the Campions! Always good to see such friendly faces. As of 4/28/25 (Monday), the draft safety plan that was enacted is no longer in effect.

Back here at FACS, it is back to business as usual - but if you are watching your calendar closely, you probably have also noticed that this means that the month of May also begins this week and that usually means a lot of upcoming events as well; please make sure to check the newsletter every week going forward for updates on the important happenings at both campuses!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Starting on May 5th, both campuses (and schools all around the country) will be taking time to celebrate the amazing educators that impact the lives of all of the students and families in our care! I am sure that all of you have had an educator who has changed your life in some capacity – this is the perfect week and opportunity to reach out to them, and the teachers here at FACS, to express gratitude for all that they do every day. We love our FACS teachers!

Peace,

Mr. Francis Dempsey

Principal

St. Matt's Running Club

The St. Matt's Kids Running program will be starting on Thursday, May 1st! This program emphasises fun and fitness and prepares students to run the Bellin 5K Race which will be held on Saturday June 14th.

This is a free program and all St. Matt's students K-4 are welcome, but students younger than 2nd grade need a parent/adult volunteer to run with them for safety purposes. We will be practicing twice a week after school at St. Matt's (we will run outside) starting on Thursday, May 1st. Practice dates are as follows: May 1, 7, 8, 12, 14, 19, 22, 28 and 29 and June 2 and 4. These practices will take 30-60 minutes depending on the length of the run. Pickup times will be noted on the practice schedule that will be given out to those who sign up.  We are greatly in need of adult helpers! You don't need to run to help!  Help needed includes directing/cheering on students on the route and making sure they are safe, handing out water, and helping with snacks.  To sign your child up or if you have questions, please contact Carrie Miller at 920-309-2444 or carrielmiller99@gmail.com.

Brims & Bowties – A Night at the Derby is off to the races! Dust off your derby best—think bold bowties, fancy fascinators, and, of course, those show-stopping brims—as we gather for a night of fun, community, and giving.

This event isn’t just our school’s biggest fundraiser—it’s also one of the best ways to connect with fellow FACS families! Whether you’re brand new or a long-time member of the community, we’d love for you to join in and get involved. Many hands make light work, and your help—big or small—makes the FACS community even stronger.

Interested in lending a hand? Reach out to our event co-chairs, Kara Leiterman and Jennelle Anderson, at FACSFundraiser@gmail.com. Whether it’s stuffing envelopes or helping secure donations, every bit of support makes a difference. Stay tuned—more details on how you can pitch in are coming soon!
