December 18, 2024

Dear Father Allouez Catholic School Families,

Happy New Year to you all and welcome back! This past Monday was Epiphany Monday which celebrates the manifestation of the Lord through the Magi (3 Kings). It is through this wonderous occasion that God reveals His Truth to us all through Jesus and makes Him known to the world.

As we continue into 2025 and the remainder of the school year, it is important to remember that at the end of the month, we will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week. Which is a week-long celebration of what it means to be a Catholic School and why they are so important! More information will be forthcoming about this week – we look forward to celebrating not only our Catholic school, but Catholic Schools all over the world!

Next week, our 7th graders will be heading north to Camp Tekakwitha for their annual retreat. Similar to what the 6th graders did, the students will be staying overnight at the camp where they will engage in a host of activities and winter fun to help build their class community all while having a lot of fun in the process. We are still seeking another chaperone or two to spend the night – this is an integral part of the process, so please consider doing so if you are the parent of a current 7th grade student.

Thank you all so much for such a great first half of the school year – I am very excited to see what happens in 2025 with all of you and the students and staff here at Father Allouez Catholic School!

Upcoming Important Dates

1/8/25 – STAR Testing begins

1/16-1/17/25 – Camp Tekakwitha for 7th grade

1/20/25 – NO SCHOOL (Teacher In-Service Day)

Winter Sports

What a great season of basketball it has been for our Girls and Boys teams here at Father Allouez! All of the student athletes have played with tremendous effort, sportsmanship, and skill! A special thank you to all of the coaches who helped to make them better athletes all around and to all of the fans who have come out to support them! This week, there are home games for the 6th grade boys against OLOL at 5PM and for the 5th grade boys against SJB at 6PM on Thursday. We also have a host of away games on Thursday: G2 team plays at Providence at 4:30PM, B1 at NDDP at 5:30PM, and our 5th grade girls at NDDP at 6:30PM. Go Wolves!

Peace,

Mr. Francis Dempsey

Academic Calendar 2025-26

We are pleased to share the Board-approved GRACE academic calendar for the 2025-26 school year which is available at gracesystem.org | About GRACE | Calendar (direct link to the one-page summary).

Please note that Christmas break will be extended to two full weeks due to the timing of Christmas and New Year’s Day. To ensure the school year does not extend further, schools are open and classes will be held on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and on Easter Monday.

Looking ahead, we anticipate returning to our traditional schedule with these days off in the following school year, along with a shorter Christmas break.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we adjust to this unique calendar.
