Someday, Winter will finally end here in the Green Bay area, and we will have Spring. But that does not mean that we don’t already see signs of Spring happening – namely that our students have begun to partake in running in the form of track. With that in mind, I also wanted to share that the St. Matt’s Running Program will be starting on Thursday, May 1st. This program emphasizes fun and fitness and prepares students to run the Bellin 5K Race which will be held on Saturday, June 14th. This is a free program and all St. Matt’s students K-4 are welcome, but students younger than 2nd Grade will need a parent/adult volunteer to run with them (for safety purposes). The program will practice twice a week after school at St. Matt’s and the runs will take place outside. Practice dates are as follows: May 1, 7, 8, 12, 14, 19, 22, 28, and 29 along with June 2 and 4. This week, we also celebrated the season of Lent at the SMS campus by having students recreate the final moments of the life of Jesus through the Stations of the Cross. All of the students involved did a marvelous job acting in a reverent way and participating through reading different parts and signing the songs in the congregation. Thank you to Jennie Gracer for also providing a truly beautiful voice as the lead for the verse of “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?” Mrs. Gracer and the 4th graders truly made this event moving for all of us to see and sing along with.
Track Practices
Track practices have officially begun at the Resurrection campus. I will be listing the upcoming week’s practices/meets here going forward – if there are any questions about a meet or practice, please contact Coach Logan Fink directly. It was brought to my attention that some of the dates/events were incorrect last week, and I have rectified them for this week:

Volunteer Mass
Please mark your calendars as April 10th will serve as our Volunteer Mass which will be held at the SMS campus. While we are aware that the Musical (Mary Poppins Jr) will also be holding a rehearsal that day, the great news is that we will be able to host the mass in the morning and then still have the rehearsal in the afternoon – a double-dose of great events happening at the SMS campus!
Trivia Night -> Fish Fry!
Unfortunately, we will not be hosting trivia night this coming Friday. Ideally, sometime in the future we will be able to do so. If you are looking for something to do, however, on Friday night, a Fish Fry will be held at the Resurrection Campus starting at 5PM until 7PM. Come and enjoy some wonderful food and great company!
Photography
If you are interested in any sort of pictures that need to be taken this year – senior photos, 8th grade, etc – please let Mr. Dempsey know and he will be willing to set up a time to do so for you and your family. This is something that he does with his free time, including editing the photos, and would love to share this skill and talent with the greater FACS community as well.
