May 1, 2024

Dear Parents,

As we enter the month of May, I wanted to take a moment to share with you the significance of this month in the Catholic Church.  May is dedicated to honoring the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, and it holds special importance in our faith.  This morning members of the 8th grade class honored Mary by presenting flowers to her and crowning her Queen of Heaven and Earth.

During this month, we encourage our students to deepen their devotion to Mary through prayer and acts of kindness. It is a time to honor her as a model of faith and to seek her intercession in our lives.

Here are a few ways you can observe the month of May with your family:

  1. Pray the Rosary: Consider praying the rosary together as a family, reflecting on the mysteries of the life of Jesus and Mary.
  2. Attend Mass: Take the opportunity to attend Mass, where we often offer special prayers and hymns in honor of Mary during May.
  3. Learn About Mary: Take time to learn more about the life and virtues of Mary. You can read passages from the Bible about her, or explore books and resources that delve into her significance in Christian theology.
  4. Acts of Service: Encourage acts of service and kindness inspired by Mary's example of love and compassion.

As partners in your child's education and faith formation, we believe it is important to embrace and celebrate the traditions that enrich our spiritual lives. May this month be a time of growth, reflection, and grace for your family.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Blizzard game Friday night! Your rendition of the national anthem was incredible, and forming the fan tunnel was such a fantastic way to represent our school. Your spirit and enthusiasm truly added to the energy of the game.

A big thank you Mr. Block, Mrs. Sabin and Mrs. Gracer as well as all the parents who attended and supported the students. Your support means the world to us, and we appreciate you being there to celebrate and encourage our students.

Special Person Day

May 10th at the St. Matthew Campus

At the St. Matthew Campus (PreK - grade 4) of Father Allouez Catholic School, one of our favorite days of the year is Special Person Day. This is the day when we gather together to give thanks for the special people in our lives, who help us to be our best selves, and who work with us to make the world a place full of God's love.

As is tradition, students are invited to bring one or two “special people” - a grandparent, other relative, parent or a family friend to join us for the morning of May 10th from 8:30 (Mass) until 11:15 when we have an early dismissal. Students may go home with their special person if you indicate that on the google form registration. All the students in a family can participate in the activities together with their family's special person or people.

Parents, please complete the google form linked here to inform us who your family’s special person or people will be and if they are to leave with them at 11:15.
