Dear Parent and Guardians,
As we approach the end of the school year, it is my great pleasure to highlight the remarkable journey of our 8th-grade students as they prepare to graduate from Father Allouez Catholic School. This newsletter is dedicated to celebrating their accomplishments, reflecting on their growth, and looking forward to the bright futures that lie ahead.
A Journey of Memories and Milestones
Kindergarten Beginnings
Our graduating class holds a special place in our school’s history as the last group of kindergartners at both the St. Matthew and Resurrection Campuses before our schools consolidated. Their journey began in two separate communities, but they came together beautifully in first grade at the St. Matthew campus, marking the beginning of their united journey.
First Grade Unity
First grade was a year of new beginnings and memorable moments. Our students came together as one class and made delightful memories, such as decorating their first-grade teacher, Mrs. Sullivan, like a Christmas tree because they didn't have a real tree in their room. This fun and creative activity highlighted their ability to find joy and togetherness in every situation.
Second Grade Sacraments
Second grade was a significant year in their faith journey as they received their First Communion and First Reconciliation under the guidance of Mrs. Sabin. These sacraments were important milestones that deepened their connection to their faith and community.
Third Grade Adventures
In third grade, they participated in our own FACS Turkey Trot with their class buddies at the Resurrection Campus and explored nature at the Barkhausen Nature Center with Mrs. Moon. These experiences helped them build bonds with classmates and foster a love for the environment.
Fourth Grade Skills
Fourth grade brought new opportunities and skills. They learned how to be altar servers, began their sports careers at FACS, and delighted us all by learning to play the recorder in music class. Despite the abrupt shift to virtual learning due to the COVID epidemic, they adapted with resilience and determination.
Fifth Grade Challenges
The return to school in fifth grade came with its own set of challenges, as they navigated the new norms of social distancing and wearing masks. It was a testament to their strength and adaptability as they rose to the occasion, embodying the spirit of our school mascot, the Wolves.
Sixth Grade Adventures
As sixth graders, they experienced the excitement of their first overnight at Camp Tekakwitha with Mrs. Skifton as their homeroom teacher. They also returned to the sports fields and courts, gradually finding a sense of normalcy once more.
Seventh Grade Contributions
Seventh grade saw them braving a winter camp, learning survival skills in the tough Wisconsin winters. They also hosted their first CP Carnival with the 8th grade, raising over a thousand dollars for the CP Telethon in March, demonstrating their commitment to service and community.
Ready for the Next Step
Here we are in May 2024, ready to say goodbye and Godspeed to our graduating class. Throughout their time at Father Allouez Catholic School, they have completed numerous service projects, studied diligently, and prayed together. Their journey has been marked by resilience, adaptability, and a deepening of faith.
I am confident that they are ready for the next steps in their lives, equipped with the knowledge and faith to become impactful leaders of the future Church and community. They have shown us that they are capable of great things, and I look forward to seeing all they will achieve.
Final Words of Gratitude
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents and guardians for your unwavering support and involvement in your children's education. Your encouragement and dedication have played a crucial role in their success, and we are grateful for the partnership we have shared.
To our 8th-grade graduates: As you move forward, remember that you are capable of achieving great things. Believe in yourselves, stay curious, and always strive to be the best version of yourselves. Your journey is just beginning, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.
Growing in GRACE,
Kay Franz
