Dear Parents,
This weekend the Church gathers together to begin the joyous season of Advent. As we prepare for the birth of Jesus Christ, we are excited to share with you a gift to assist your family to experience a meaningful and reflective Advent celebration.
Advent is a time of anticipation and preparation, and what better way to engage in this spiritual journey than by delving into the rich teachings of the bible? This year your child(ren) will bring home an Advent Calendar based on the Gospel Values and Scripture passages to deepen our understanding of the true meaning of Christmas and to foster a sense of unity and reflection.
Every other day a new Gospel value will be highlighted on the Advent calendar tree. Find the matching Scripture passage and take a moment to read and reflect on the passage as a family. This can be a beautiful opportunity for meaningful conversations and shared reflections. Use the Christmas magnet to hang the tree and scripture passage on your refrigerator as a reminder of the coming gift of Christmas.
We believe that by immersing ourselves in the timeless wisdom of Scripture, we can deepen our connection to the true spirit of Christmas.
Another wonderful opportunity for your family to grow in faith is being hosted by the Catholic Identity Committee of the FACS Site Advisory Council. This year, we will be hosting Alpha for the Father Allouez community. Alpha is a video series that invites us to explore some of life’s biggest questions. Each session will last roughly 90 minutes and include snacks, a video, and discussion with other FACS parents. Everyone is invited to participate, regardless of their faith background.
We will be kicking off Alpha in December (see dates and times below). To make it easier for parents to attend, we are offering free child care at each session. Simply sign up here (https://forms.gle/qM25TeEKSt8Pd72HA) so we can plan for food and child care.
-
Session 1 - Sunday, December 3, 3:30 - 5:00 in the St. Matthew Gathering Space
-
Session 2 - Sunday, December 10, 3:30 - 5:00 in the St. Matthew Gathering Space
- Details about dates, times, and locations of upcoming sessions are TBD.
May this Advent season be a time of profound reflection, joy, and connection for you and your family. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in nurturing the spiritual growth of our students.
Wishing you a blessed Advent season.
Growing in GRACE,
Kay Franz
