October 2, 2024
Dear Father Allouez Catholic School Families,
By the time next week’s newsletter rolls out, the Solemnity of Our Lady of Champion will
already have begun. This celebration commemorates the appearance of the Blessed
Virgin Mary right here in Champion, Wisconsin to Adele Brise. Adele is being
considered for canonization, having received a unanimous vote from the U.S. Bishops.
Because of this, the Diocese is asking schools to find time on this day to pray to Our
Lady of Champion and is also hosting an all-schools (and families) Rosary during the
day. I hope that all of you take the opportunity to come together as a family on this day
to pay honor, homage, and respect to Our Blessed Mother.
Last week, you may have seen that our musical has been officially announced for the
2024-25 School Year. In case you missed it, we will be putting on a production of Mary
Poppins Jr! To accomplish this undertaking, the students at Resurrection will have
two different rehearsal periods during the week under the guidance of Ms. Lehr, Ms.
Junak, and Mrs. Kelly Gusloff. Meanwhile, Mrs. Gracer and Mrs. VandenBush will help
prepare our Grade 3 and 4 students who are interested in being part of the ensemble.
We will also have the support of Mrs. Teresa Schmidt and her knowledge of how to run
a musical – she directed the musicals at Notre Dame Academy for many years! The
musical will feature auditions for the main cast roles from Grades 5-8. Please use the
following link if your Middle School child is interested in signing up for one of the two
dates for the musical auditions: Audition Sign-Up Link.

Star Testing We have officially reached the end of our Fall Star Testing window. I
would like to express my sincere thanks to all families, students, and teachers who
helped to make it as successful as possible! The results for each student will be sent
home one week before conferences take place so that you are able to view the results
and prepare any questions that may arise. Please note that a new, different report will
be sent home this year. A letter will be coming explaining the new report. If you have
any questions once you receive the letter or report, please do not hesitate to contact me
directly.
Peace,
Mr. Francis Dempsey
