Dear Father Allouez Catholic School Families,

In the Gospel, we hear how Jesus “resolutely determined to journey to Jerusalem,” even though He knew it would mean facing rejection, suffering, and ultimately His Passion. When a Samaritan village refused to welcome Him, His disciples wanted to call down punishment, but Jesus chose the way of mercy and peace. This passage reminds us that the mission of Christ is not one of destruction, but of love—a love that endures rejection and continues forward toward salvation.

As we reflect on this Gospel, we also look to Mary, the Blessed Mother. Mary, too, knew what it meant to walk the road of faith with courage and trust. From the moment of the Annunciation, she accepted God’s plan, even though it was filled with mystery and challenge. Mary quietly but faithfully walked with her Son, all the way to Jerusalem and the Cross. She never turned away, even when others rejected or misunderstood Him.

Mary shows us the way to her Son by her example of trust, humility, and perseverance. She reminds us that to follow Jesus is to choose peace over anger, forgiveness over revenge, and courage over fear. Just as Mary stood firm in her faith and guided others to Christ, she continues to guide us today.

Let us pray that we may imitate Mary’s steadfast love and courage, allowing her to lead us closer to Jesus. With her motherly care, she helps us to stay focused on the true mission: to walk with Christ in mercy and love, no matter the obstacles before us.

The sign-up will be sent out in a week or two, so please keep a careful eye out for it! Please see the important dates above for the exact time windows for exact time windows for each date.
