Hello Families of Father Allouez Catholic School,
As I type this newsletter, I am in the process of completing the required WRISA report
that ensures Father Allouez Catholic School is accredited and in good standing with the
Wisconsin Religious and Independent School Accreditation (WRISA). Part of this report
requires that the school share the total enrollment of each grade and the total
cumulative number of students as well. I am thrilled to announce that we are up by 28
students over last year, which brings our grand total of students to 294 across both
campuses! This demonstrates how much families are craving a strong, vibrant, Catholic
education for their children and is also indicative of the level of dedication that our
teachers and educational support staff put into making sure our students are thriving! If
you know of anyone who is interested in learning more about us here at FACS, please
have them reach out directly to the main office at either campus.
Please see the following information regarding the WRISA process: “This year, our
school, along with the entire GRACE system, is beginning the process of renewing our
accreditation. We are accredited through the Wisconsin Religious and Independent
Schools Association (WRISA), as required by the Diocese of Green Bay and the state of
Wisconsin for School Choice Schools. This self-study process is a meaningful
opportunity for us to assess ourselves and ensure we continue to offer an exceptional,
faith-centered education. Please stay tuned for more updates as we progress through
this year.”
Upcoming Important Date:
THIS FRIDAY, Sept. 27, 2024: Star Testing window closes, and we have a Half Day of
School. School dismisses at 11:15 AM at the St. Matthew Campus and 11:30 AM at
the Resurrection Campus. Teachers and staff will be participating in a Professional
Development opportunity in the afternoon. Please plan accordingly for this day.
Middle School Update
For those of you with Middle Schoolers, I want to share a brief update regarding the
change to Wednesdays and the general schedule as well. Last year, Middle School
students had their entire Wednesday dedicated to elective classes. While this provided
them with different opportunities, it also meant a decline in instructional minutes in core
subjects, a drop in attendance, and a number of students who reported that they did not
do any of the assigned work on Tuesday in preparation for classes on Thursday.
Therefore, after discussing with the Resurrection Campus Middle School staff, I have
changed the electives time to the two periods following lunch. This way, students still
have electives, but the morning is dedicated fully to core subjects. Attendance is up
and instructional minute requirements are being met even more. I appreciate the efforts
of the teachers in helping this transition be as successful as it has been and to the
students as well!
Peace,
Mr. Francis Dempsey
