Greetings FAEA Members,
Happy summer! It is hard to believe it is already July, summer always goes by so quickly! We hope your 4th of July was enjoyable, safe, and full of incredible celebrations.
With four months until the annual conference, the FAEA Professional Development Committee is diligently finalizing conference details. We have notified members of accepted proposals and are awaiting presenter confirmations. If you submitted a proposal, be sure to check your mail and confirm your presentation. As session proposals are confirmed, the committee is preparing the schedule of exceptional sessions. We anticipate another outstanding conference.
Plan to join us for the 65th Annual Conference in St. Petersburg and celebrate "The Power of Art!" Don’t forget to start brainstorming the perfect outfit for the Saturday evening gala. The gala is the perfect way to end conference and we look forward to the creative attire representing the gala theme, "What’s your Superpower?" Be sure to book your hotel for the 65th FAEA Conference, October 19-22, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida because we are expecting a highly attended conference!
Even though it is the middle of summer, The Florida Art Education Association is preparing for the upcoming year and all it encompasses. The Awards committee is currently in the process of selecting the 2017 award recipients. Thanks to everyone that took the time to nominate a deserving colleague. The nominations are extremely impressive and we look forward to honoring the recipients at the 2017 Awards Breakfast.
If you are attending artistic workshops this summer or making art on your own time, please plan to participate in the FAEA Member Virtual Exhibition. The Exhibition Committee will release the details soon and we know the artwork will exceed our expectations.
It is almost time for the FAEA artist retreat in Ocala, July 22-23, 2017. Save the date and visit faea.org to register. This is going to be a truly unique experience.
The Florida Art Education Association is committed to implementing ongoing programs that promote visual arts education and growth of the visual arts within the state and on a national level. If you have any suggestions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected]. As the summer progresses, continue to enjoy your time and make the most of every moment!
