Greetings! Happy 4th of July! As you celebrate and enjoy the summer, we hope that you are finding time to create new artwork to submit to the Member Virtual Exhibition ! FAEA is currently accepting entries until September 4th for the chance to be featured in the exhibition that will be displayed at Conference and on our website. The new school year will be here before you know it, which means it is time to renew your FAEA membership for the 2018-2019 year . Happy Summer! I hope that all of you are resting, relaxing, and soaking up this beautiful Florida weather (or, wherever your travels have sent you)! June’s FAEA Summer Workshops and Retreat were the perfect way to reconnect to art-making, inspired balance, and invigorating environments! The month of July, unlike other months, was named after a mortal: Julius Cesar. After his death, his birth month was renamed to resemble his name in 44 BC (he also had two sisters both named Julia). Our contemporary democracy was partly inspired by the Roman Republic, particularly the concept of elected officials.  July is the perfect time to be sure that you are registered to vote in this very important election year!  Registering is simple and only requires a Florida issued ID or Driver’s License and your Social Security Number. You can register online by visiting RegistertoVoteFlorida.org . SAVE THE DATE!  The annual conference, Vintage Vogue: Time to Shine! will be held on October 18-21, 2018 in St. Petersburg!  Save the date and ask your administration early for financial support to attend! You can find out more information about the conference on the FAEA website .   Lark Keeler FAEA President
