Members can submit their artwork through September 3rd  for the chance to be featured in the exhibition that will be displayed at Conference and on our website.  Click here  to find out more information about the Member Virtual Exhibition.

Do you know a colleague or friend that deserves to be recognized for their contribution to art education? If so, nominate them for an FAEA Award. Submissions for award nominations will be accepted through Monday, June 10th. Visit the FAEA website to learn more information about each award category.

FAEA would like to congratulate 8th grader Maya Wilson, an art student at Genesis Preparatory School in New Port Richey, for winning the K-12 Doodle for Google for the state of Florida! Monthly News from the President's Palette
Happy Summer! Another school year is ending and a new summer is beginning! Here are a few resources and ideas to help you get the most out of your summer vacation!

Have you found some good summer books to read? I love the list that FAEA 2018 Conference keynote speaker, Cassie Stephens, has put together here . It includes a few of my favorites and some new ones for me to dive into this summer while hanging out in the backyard hammock.

Planning a staycation? The Florida Association of Museums has a terrific database of museums found throughout the state.

Are you a volunteer ? As an art educator, your skills can be incredibly useful for many organizations and cultural institutions seeking volunteers.

Get some sleep ! Take the time this summer to create a routine that supports your well-being. Check out this article from Edutopia that has some great suggestions and facts.

Did you have a tough school year? Learn how to let go of the past in this article from Healthline.

On those really hot days here in Florida, try some indoor AC activities ! Put a puzzle together, try a new recipe, language, or start a blog. Find a bunch of other great ideas in this article from We Are Teachers.

Learn about a new technique or medium by attending a convenient ArtLab hosted around the state by FAEA members. Check out the registration page with details about each of the one-day, hands-on workshops.

Most importantly, be sure to give back to yourself this summer. Take time to refresh, recharge, reconnect, and renew your energy. Carve out the time to fill your inspiration tank all the way up!

Many to Handle

"When I grow up, I hope to do so many things that it made me think of an octopus playing dressup. It makes me think of myself using eight arms to do many jobs! It is hard to do multiple jobs with only two arms." - Maya Wilson (Florida, 8-9 Grade Group)
Thank you for your support of FAEA. Our members help FAEA fulfill its mission of advocating and supporting high quality art education to all students in the state of Florida.

Sincerely,
