I recently read that the seasons in Florida are
“Warm, Hot, Very Hot,
and
Too Darn Hot.”
I imagine the seasons of being a teacher seem more like,
“Back to School, School Days, School Daze,
and
Summer Vacation.”
The end of the school year can at times be challenging, but it is also the time when we can really glimpse the growth that has occurred within our students. Hanging end-of-the-year art shows reminds us of the positive power of exhibiting and celebrating student art work, and the impact that it has on a child forever. As we begin wrapping up our school year, know that the work you have accomplished with your students, no matter how great or small, will have also cultivated lasting memories that remain with your students for a lifetime. Never forget that you are often the best part of a student’s day.
Soon enough, the season of “Summer Vacation” will be here. While you are moving through the daze at the end of the school year busyness, keep in mind that FAEA is bringing you six professional development opportunities around the state designed especially for you to immerse yourself in learning new techniques, using a variety of interesting materials. I wish you an easy end of the school year and an energized start to a wonderful summer season.
