FAFP President Dr. John Gross Featured on WINK News
FAFP President Dr. John Gross was recently featured on WINK News as part of an effort to have Florida Governor Ron DeSantis veto House bill 241 (Parents' Bill of Rights) which, if implemented, would subject physicians and other healthcare professionals to a first degree misdemeanor if written consent from a parent is not obtained before treating a minor. The FAFP has joined forces with the Florida Medical Associations and other physician groups writing letters to the governor requesting his veto. If implemented, the bill would go into effect on July 1. FAFP members are strongly encouraged to use these letters as a template to send your own message to the governor requesting a veto, mail and email address is provided below. Please help us advocate for family medicine on this very important issue!

The Honorable Ron DeSantis
Governor, State of Florida
PL 05 Capitol

May Member Spotlight: Dr. Diane Batshaw Eisman
"My story begins around the turn of the twentieth century. It was during this era that Dr. William Osler has been frequently quoted as saying “Listen to your patient, he is telling you the diagnosis.”

True then.

True today.

Practicing medicine has taught me many things, but Dr. Osler’s simple words have imbued in me the heart of how I practice as a Family Practitioner. His words have carried me through many situations."
