Family Physicians play a crucial role in promoting disease prevention through evidence-based care. Chief among these preventative tools is immunization.

The Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP) steadfastly supports vaccination of school-aged children against preventable illness. We stand in alignment with recent statements from the Florida Medical Association and other medical organizations endorsing the science-proven practice of safe, effective vaccination for the promotion and defense of public health.

This moment offers a unique opportunity for family physicians to engage with patients and communities in meaningful conversations about vaccine safety and the vital role immunizations play in protecting our patients and overall population health. The FAFP is committed to supporting these conversations by providing education for our physicians consistent with current vaccine requirements, while continuing to advocate for widespread immunization to safeguard the health and well-being of all Floridians.
