FAITC Fall Grants

🌱 $500 School Garden Grants

Florida Agriculture in the Classroom’s School Garden Grant Program provides $500 to support the creation or expansion of school gardens. These gardens serve as hands-on learning spaces where students explore the significance of agriculture, develop healthier eating habits, and engage with Florida’s educational standards across various subjects. The program empowers educators to bring lessons to life through interactive, agriculture-based experiences.

🍎 Teacher Grants

Florida Agriculture in the Classroom’s Teacher Grant Program supports Pre-K through 12th grade general education and agriculture teachers who integrate agricultural themes into core academic instruction. These grants fund innovative classroom projects that help students understand the vital role agriculture plays in their daily lives. The program also encourages connections between students and local farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness professionals to enrich their learning experience.

New Agriculture Literacy Day Book

Cotton and Its Boll Versus the Peanut and Its Hull

Florida Agriculture in the Classroom is proud to present this year’s Agriculture Literacy Day book: Cotton and Its Boll versus the Peanut and Its Hull. We’re excited to spotlight Florida’s vibrant cotton and peanut industries through this engaging story.

Volunteer Readers Welcome! We invite representatives from the agriculture industry to participate as classroom readers. Volunteers are asked to coordinate directly with schools and schedule their visits at least two weeks in advance.

Flexible Scheduling! There is no designated date for this year’s program—simply choose a time that works best for both the volunteer and the school. After all, we believe every day is Agriculture Literacy Day!

The new book will be available by the end of September. If you need to read to a class before that time, you will receive The Work of the Wings book.
