SESSION 2: DRIVING OUR INSTRUCTION - CREATING THE MAP | |
Participants will be digging into previously released state test questions. They will be looking closely at the language and the DOK levels of these questions. They will be analyzing the performance levels descriptors of the standards to help drive instruction to higher levels. They will be spending time going over mathematical task analysis and how to increase the cognitive demand in order to challenge student thinking and increase student engagement. Teachers joining us at this session will be introduced to Number Talks and have the chance to join in a few. They will be spending time focusing on how best to use Restart/Readiness to progress their students and how to use the results to provide intervention or enrichment to personalize student learning. Finally, teachers will have another chance to participate in an engaging rich math task and create and share one of their own based on their grade/content level. | |

SESSION 3: BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER - MATH SUPPORTS | |
Participants in this training will be introduced to number strings and see how they could incorporate them in their classrooms. Participants will also learn how they can use writing in their math classrooms to determine their students’ performance levels, and how this can help them determine whether their students require intervention or enrichment. Participants will receive instruction/support on using DESMOS along with activities/ideas they can do with their students to help them become comfortable using DESMOS.
Participants will have a chance to complete a rich math task and then create and share a rich math task in their grade/content level. Participants can expect to receive multiple tips for testing and question resources before the end of the day’s session.

Traumatic Event Crisis Intervention (TECIP) Team Training | |
TECIP is a field-tested school-based framework for dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic event. In this training, district teams will investigate management protocols and
intervention strategies so they are best prepared to support their school community. Crisis Oriented Planning and Educational Services, LLC (COPES) Consulting will be providing a two-day, in-depth training focusing on foundational information of school crisis, direct instruction and clarification of the Traumatic Event Crisis Intervention Plan (TECIP) framework. The will also offer opportunities to participants to practice and gain comfort with the TECIP framework and begin personalizing a TECIP plan to meet your building (and/or district) needs.

Child Safety and Violence Prevention | |
The Child Safety and Violence Prevention training is now available online. Participants may register at any time during the course period provided they can complete the required four (4) contact hours.
This training will assist teachers in meeting requirements for school professionals, outlined by the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Section 3319.073 and the ODE requirements for Child Abuse Training. The purpose of this training is to assist participants in learning how to identify child abuse as well as student behavioral health issues (including depression, suicidal thinking, substance abuse, and bullying). The program will also describe how to seek appropriate community referrals when needed.
