"Pamper Me" Day
Our residents, House Moms & Program Director recently enjoyed a needed day of rest and bonding. They enjoyed breakfast at the Iowa Machine Shed, manicures, pedicures, a shopping trip courtesy of a generous donor, and a special tea party. The group gave rave reviews, deep gratitude and are excited to plan another adventure together in the future!

A highlight of the outing was an English tea party complete with scones and sweets!
It was hosted by a friend of Ruth Harbor who blessed the group with the story of her faith journey.
Des Moines Home Recovering Well From COVID
The Des Moines home was impacted by the COVID virus in September, but thankfully everyone is now healthy and well!

The challenges of navigating COVID in a group home setting like ours are even more challenging than a "typical" home, but we are so grateful for the way everything was handled, how the staff chipped-in whenever and wherever needed, thankful for the support of volunteers who brought-in meals and thankful that our home was able to provide effective distancing so the virus did not spread.
During these days, residents are finding ways to continue their work and schooling from home...just like many of you!
Positives to share:
  • One resident says she is in the best shape of her life - she walked several times a day just to get out of the house.
  • Residents were eager to take-on additional tasks and help around the house even more than usual.
  • Several of the affected individuals experienced little or no symptoms.
  • Another resident was scheduled to begin a new job, but her employer held the position until she was out of quarantine.
  • Molly Maid of Ankeny blessed us with an entire home cleaning after quarantining.
September Birth
Please join us in celebrating a NEW BIRTH at Ruth Harbor Ministries! The arrival date was Sept. 12. We ask that you pray for the health and well-being of the birth mother, her baby boy, and their entire family.

Baby, mom and all involved are doing well! Praise the Lord!
