Increase to Board Approval Limit Expedites Application Process

Based on the valuable feedback you provided through our annual Customer Satisfaction Survey, we're continuing to make improvements in our services. You let us know you wanted a more expedient approval process for larger deals. We're pleased to announce that FAME is now able to offer in-house approval of loans up to $1.5 million in FAME exposure. Depending on the risk profile of the borrower, this amount could be even higher.

We greatly appreciate the input you provide us in these annual surveys. More changes are in the works—stay tuned for more exciting announcements!

FAME Staff Spotlight
Karen Kunesh, Workout & Commercial Loan Officer
Washington, Maine native Karen Kunesh joined the FAME commercial lending team in March. With over 15 years of experience in the banking industry, Karen says she was ready for a new challenge. "I wanted to work for an organization with a solid reputation; one that's making a difference. FAME was the perfect fit. I admire FAME's mission to support economic growth for the great state of Maine, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the team."

Karen and her family live in Washington with their dog, three cats, and one fish. This time of year, they enjoy spending time in their pool, exploring the coast, and hiking. Karen also enjoys cooking and says her favorite poolside reads are non-fiction crime dramas.
Kim Getchell, Commercial Loan Officer
Joining FAME on June 3rd, Kim Getchell is the newest member of the FAME commercial lending team. Having worked with FAME at her previous position in the banking industry, Kim says she was able to see the benefits of FAME's community partnerships and was excited by the opportunity to work for an organization focused on the lasting sustainability of Maine businesses. "I look forward to being able to offer my assistance to Maine lenders and business owners as they navigate the business life cycle."

Born & raised in Caribou, Maine, Kim now lives in Standish with her partner, Brad and their fur babies, Chloe, a miniature border collie, and Victor, a Korean-Jindo mix who was part of a massive rescue of 250 dogs from the horrific dog meat trade in South Korea. "So many people followed Victor's story when he was at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland," explains Kim. "They wanted to continue to follow his progress after we adopted him, so Victor now has his own Facebook page."

When not at work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and pups. She also has a side craft business, Getch All Creations, where she makes food products (salsa and cookies are her specialties), heating/cooling bags, custom pet beds, signs, cups, and more. She is also an avid gardener.
