New Program for Maine Dairy Farmers
Developed by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry and administered by FAME, the Dairy Improvement Fund (DIF) is a new revolving loan program to help Maine dairy farms and enterprises fund capital improvements to maintain and enhance the viability of their businesses.

Launched in June, the DIF program will assist farms that are engaged in the commercial production of cow milk or cow milk products and will operate in accordance with three core principles:

  1. Providing financial support for sound business propositions
  2. Offering funds at reasonable rates and terms
  3. Partnering with private sector equity
