MAY Jefferson Park Meeting
Grant Road Project and a Meeting with Neighbors
May 17, 6pm, Ward III meeting room
| |
The Grant Road Coalition, "Central Segments", has invited the Program Manager of the Grant Road Project and the engineering firm PSOMAS to begin a dialogue about how the Grant Road Project will affect the adjacent neighborhoods in the next phase. All who are interested are invited to attend. This is a very early inquiry into the plans as it is not expected for the city to break ground until 2026. Why so early? The time to talk is before the plans are set in stone!
Grant Road Coalition * May 17, 2023, 06:00 PM
Ward III Meeting Room or by Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85368482331pwd=S2MxUlltMEg0TWIwNHdYN0toUllRZz09
Meeting ID: 853 6848 2331 Passcode: 961391
To better understand the discussion, all who attend should familiarize themselves with the Grant Road Coalition White Paper. Find the paper at: http://www.grantroadcoalition.com/56-white-paper.html

TEP SPECIAL ELECTION - Did you mail in your ballot?
Special Election
Franchise Fee - Proposition 412
What's on the ballot? The renewal of the existing 2.25% Franchise Fee plus an additional fee - a 0.75% Community Resilience Fee is the only item on the ballot. The 0.75% fee will result in an increase to residential bills of less than $1.00 p/household p/month. The Community Resilience Fund is projected to raise between $45 and $50 million over the first 10 years, with about $5 million of that committed for climate control projects. The remainder will be used for undergrounding lines, predominantly the Kino to DeMoss-Petrie 138kV Transmission Line Project.
The May 2023 special election is an all-mail election
Election Day May 16, 2023
Voting locations and County Recorder offices will be open 6:00am to 7:00pm on Election Day.

DROP OFF AT WARD VI OFFICE - 3202 E First St - between 9 and 1.
The folks running the Alitas Welcome Center come by the Ward VI weekly to gather up the donations you bring into the office. The weekly trips are necessary because they continue to get 300-500 new arrivals daily at Alitas.
We can’t get families who helped in our own war effort united, and we leave it up to donors to help with people coming across our border escaping trauma in their home countries. At the Ward 6 office we continue to be grateful to all of you who see the needs and support the people we’re serving. (from Ward VI newsletter)

Save your plastics-grocery bags, frozen fruit, vegetables bags, plastic covering on items you purchase, plastic covering paper towel pkgs., etc.
See the U-tube video to the right to get a better idea of the process. I began a month ago and was astounded at the amount of plastic I tossed out!
