Q: What exactly is a virtual race -- and do we all get the bottle-opener medal?
A: A virtual race takes place at the location and time of your choice and is based on trust. You can run or walk either the 1-mile or the 5k distance wherever you want as long as it is during the TMC Meet Me Downtown weekend (June 5-7).

And yes -- everyone who registers receives the cool made-in-the-USA TMC Meet Me Downtown medal!

Q: Do I have to actually run?
A: Of course not! You can't drive, but feel free to walk, run, skip, hike, shuffle, or sprint your distance; whatever is comfortable for you.

Q: Do I have to follow the race route?
A: You can choose wherever you want to run -- and you can pick how far. Complete the virtual 1-mile or 5k by running or walking around your neighborhood, on a local trail, or even on a treadmill. If you'd like to head downtown to complete the 5K or 1 mile on the actual race course, here is the course map .

Q: How do I share my results?
A: On Friday June 5th, we’ll post a link at the top of the Run Tucson webpage ( www.runtucson.net ) for you to submit your results. The link will also be available on our TMC Meet Me Downtown Facebook event page. Every registered 5k and 1 mile finisher who submits a result will be entered in our raffle for some awesome prize giveaways from The Running Shop, Hotel Congress, and Downtown Tucson Partnership.

Q: Where can I find the virtual race results?
A: TMC MMD 5K & 1 Mile virtual race results will be posted on our Run Tucson homepage and on the Southern Arizona Roadrunners (SAR) website by Tuesday, June 9.

Q: How do I get my TMC Meet Me Downtown race shirt, race number, and souvenir race medal?
A: We will hold two in-person locations and times:

10:00 am - 5:00 pm on Friday, June 5th in front of The Running Shop, 3055 North Campbell. The Running Shop is open for business, so you can come in and purchase anything you need. They are following safe shopping practices.

and

5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 6th in front of Maynard's Market, across from Hotel Congress at 400 North Toole.

NOTE: we will adhere to social distancing guidelines, with plenty of spacing to pick up your pre-packaged items.

NOTE: those of you who signed up BEFORE April 25th have already received your shirts - you can still come down and snag your race medal and race number!

Q: I know you're not holding the traditional beer garden, but what about the traditional Hotel Congress After Party?
A: We're excited to say that Hotel Congress and Maynard's Kitchen are offering runners a post-race promotion, following all safe practices. So come down, snag your schwag, then socially-distance yourself on the patio or get some takeout!

Maynards Market:
$4 Ice Cold Draft Beer
$13 Hand Tossed Pizzas (try the Short Rib…OMG)

Hotel Congress:
$4 Ice Cold Draft Beer
$10 Plate o Tacos (Mission, Drunken Fish, and Papa Y Chile as choices)

Hotel Congress has received ServSafe certification, a nationally accredited food safety program. "We had our staff undergo two days of rigorous in-house training with Covid-19 sanitizing and serving procedures; the ServSafe certification is specifically for Covid-19 takeout safe handling instructions."

Q: What if I signed up for Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown?
A: For those of you who signed up for the GabeZ Triple Crown before April 25th, you should have received your blue GabeZ shirt and black TMC Meet Me Downtown shirt already. For the later Triple Crown registrants, you will also receive the blue GabeZ shirt when you pick up your black TMC Meet Me Downtown shirt and medal.

Q: What if I signed up for the Out of Town Crown?
A: For those of you who signed up for the Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown Out of Town Crown, we will mail your shirts and medal to you. Some of you have already received your shirts, but please make sure your current mailing address and shirt size are updated in your Run Signup race registration portal by June 7 so that we can get your goodies to you!

Q: Are you still supporting local charities?
A: YES! Please see below for all the organizations that we're raising funds for -- and please consider making an extra race donation through the race registration site here!

Q: Will there still be cash prizes for overall winners and will there be age group awards?
A: Unfortunately, we will not be able to distinguish overall winners and age group winners since everyone will be running on their own. Fortunately, we will still have plenty of prizes that we will be raffling off on Tuesday, June 9, to several virtual race participants.

Q: How can I win a prize???
A: Once you have shared your virtual 5k or 1 Mile result with us through the google form (more details coming soon), your name or your team name will be entered in the final TMC MMD Raffle on Tuesday, June 9, at The Running Shop. The drawing will be shown live on Facebook and you will receive an email letting you know YOU WON!

Q: Can friends still register?
A: Yes! We have 75 spots left. You can register online through http://www.azroadrunners.org/ or www.runtucson.net until Thursday June 4th by midnight or until we reach our cap. You can also register by mail through June 1st. As a safety precaution, there will be no in-person registration on race weekend, June 5-7.

Q: Is it too late to sign up for a team?
A: You can still sign up as a team! Once five or more runners sign up using your team name, each member gets five dollars back on their card. The biggest team will receive a $100 gift card to Hotel Congress. Every other team will be entered in a final team raffle for more Hotel Congress gift cards.

Q: What if I still have questions?
A: Please email [email protected] if you have a question that did not get answered here.
