ASOASO Lifestyle Survey

Arts and Science Online has completed its Lifestyle Survey. The survey provides the ASO team with demographic and psychographic data on its students and allows them to better understand who their students are, and why they chose Queen's Arts and Science Online.

Some highlights include:
  • 70.5% of students are female
  • 36% of students are ages 23-29
  • 57% work full time
  • 76.5% live in Ontario
Based on 2017-18 fiscal year data and survey results of new Arts and Science Online students (admitted in the Summer 2017, Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 terms), the team has built an infographic detailing their findings.

protocolNew Multimedia Informed Consent Protocol to Remove Barriers to Equity

The Faculty Office has adopted Informed Consent 2.0 - the Multimedia Informed Consent Protocol developed by Rebecca Sweetman, Instructional Design Multimedia Support Analyst, for Arts and Science Online. It addresses the barriers to equity in obtaining consent for the use of video footage, such as difficulties with reading and understanding the contract and rights, as consent contracts may be made orally with participants on camera or as an audio recording. We encourage you to everyone in the Faculty to use this protocol when making video content.

NIPDNational Indigenous Peoples Day

National Indigenous Peoples Day is June 21, 2019.

In support of employees who would like to attend National Indigenous Peoples Day events scheduled to occur on campus or elsewhere, the University is asking managers to advise all employees that they will be provided with sufficient time off (up to four (4) hours of which will be paid time off) for the purpose of attending an event.  If more than four (4) hours of time off is required, employees should discuss arrangements with their manager with respect to that additional time (i.e. flex time, lieu time and/or vacation).

This arrangement is in line with the University's Observed Holidays Policy with respect to time off for attending Remembrance Day ceremonies.
