Let me start this month by expressing our gratitude for your being a part of FAVOR Upstate. Each of you reading this newsletter plays a part in our success in reaching individuals and families, and you are strengthening our community. We can't do this without your support and encourage your feedback to help us improve our services.

As our meetings continue to grow, we welcome you to join us in attending either another meeting or one of our newer meetings. Please check our ever-growing calendar of events! Speaking of events, we hope you join us for this year's

• FAVOR Fun Day - we will be Saturday, June 6th at Lake Robinson (2544 Mays Bridge Rd, Greer) from 12-4pm. Bring your family and friends as we show the community that we do have fun in recovery!

Book of the Month

UnSweetined by Jodie Sweetin

Beth Holladay-Edwards offers a thoughtful reflection on unSweetined, the candid memoir by Jodie Sweetin. Though originally published in 2009, the book still resonates deeply today, especially for those of us who grew up watching Full House and remembering Sweetin as the lovable middle child in a quirky, fun-filled household. Beth explores the stark contrast between the lighthearted television world audiences adored and the painful reality Sweetin experienced behind the scenes after fame faded. Through raw honesty and vulnerability, Sweetin shares her battle with addiction, relapse, identity loss, and ultimately recovery, reminding readers that addiction does not discriminate and that healing is a daily journey built one day at a time.

A huge thank you to Mungo Homes for their incredible generosity and heart for our community!

Their generous donation of $1,500 and commitment to assembling 100 Stay Alive Kits that will directly support individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder across the Upstate. These kits provide lifesaving harm reduction supplies, education, and hope to people who need it most.

FAVOR Upstate’s 3rd Annual FAVOR Funday

Join us at Lake Robinson in Greer, SC on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 12:00–

4:00 PM for an afternoon filled with fun, fellowship, and the joy of coming together. Whether you’re in recovery, supporting someone you love, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend the day with good people, this event is for you.

Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring a chair, bring a smile, and come enjoy a day by the lake with food, laughter, games, and community.

At FAVOR Upstate, we believe healing happens in connection — and FAVOR Funday is a chance to celebrate hope, recovery, and the strength of community together.
