The 11th annual Boosterthon Fun Run was held Wednesday, Sept. 25 at FAWE under sunny skies and favorable weather.
This schoolwide and character-building fundraiser has been a part of FAWE for many years, and on Wednesday, Boosterthon organizers called it FAWE's "best ever."
This year, the school's goal is to raise money to enhance grade-level science bins, which were supplied last year by Boosterthon fundraising. More nonconsumable supplies will be able to be added to these bins, which are utilized by the entire student body at FAWE.
We celebrated the fifth graders with a special indoor glow run in the Cafe, while the rest of the students ran on outdoor tracks by the Blue Lagoon playground.
Students last week learned valuable character lessons during the daily huddles, courtesy of the Boosterthon team of Captain Chris and M&M. And with the help of parents, grandparents, relatives and generous friends of our students, we were able to exceed our fundraising goal.
The PTA would like to send a hearty thanks to the teachers, students and staff, and ultimately, a warm thank you to our massive group of volunteers. This is one of the PTA's largest events and year after year, hosts of volunteers eagerly come forward to help present an event of this magnitude. We are all grateful for you!
Parents, if anyone in your child's sphere was not able to pledge, FunRun.com will be accepting pledges until Wednesday, Oct. 2.
