I cannot believe that the end of December 2022 is here, and that it is almost time to ring in 2023. It seems like just yesterday that I and all the lovely ladies on the FAWL Board were being sworn in. Where has the time gone?
All of the ladies on the FAWL Board have been working very hard to make this FAWL year a success, and I am extremely grateful to each of them for their time and effort. Thanks so much to President-elect Thomasina Moore, Treasurer Jennifer Comella, Secretary Jessica D. Thomas, Development Director Starr Linette Brookins, Journal Director Alexis Dion Deveaux, Membership Director Melissa Roca Shaw, Public Relations Director Jessica Saiontz, Legislative Director Mary Ann Ruiz, YLD Director Sydney Feldman, Immediate Past President Jenny Sieg, and to Kari Hicks, FAWL’s fabulous Executive Director. Thank you for all you have done, and for all you will continue to do, to make FAWL’s 2022-2023 year the best it can be. It has truly been a pleasure to work with all of you, and I cannot wait to see what the New Year brings for us.
I also cannot wait to unveil what 2023 has in store for all of you—FAWL’s members. FAWL will have its Mid Year Conference in Tampa on February 9-10, 2023, and Lobby Days in Tallahassee on March 26-28, 2023. We plan to offer a little something for everyone, and registration information will be coming soon, so please mark your calendars. Would you like to hear members from other chapters speak about what successful programming they have offered in the past? Are you interested in becoming a better leader for your chapter? Would you like the opportunity to meet with members from across the State and with Judges in Tampa? If so, the Mid Year Conference is for you. Would you like to learn about the Florida legislative process? Would you like the opportunity to meet with legislators to advocate for the passage of bills that relate to FAWL’s mission? Would you like to attend an exclusive tour of the Florida Supreme Court? If so, Lobby Days is for you. I hope to see you there!
As we come to the end of 2022, I want to wish each and every one of you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. No matter which holiday you celebrate, may the New Year bring you and your families joy, peace, and love.
Donna L. Eng
FAWL President
