Message From Your FAWL Leadership Team
|
|
Good Morning FAWL Members,
I am Mariane Dorris, the 2019-2020 Journal Editor. The FAWL Journal is published biannually and distributed to the membership at the direction of the Board of Directors. The FAWL Fall/Winter 2019 Journal focused on “Equality Under the Law” and explored several aspects of equal justice, including paternity leave, the death penalty, the immigration system, discrimination and access to health care. The articles were primarily authored by FAWL members, edited by FAWL members and distributed to over 3,000 FAWL members! Being a part of the Journal Committee provides a great opportunity to work with other FAWL members across the state, research and author articles on topical legal issues impacting our community, as well as make a lasting impact on our profession.
The FAWL Spring/Summer 2020 Journal will focus on “Celebrating Suffrage.” The Journal plans to address the Florida Amendment 4, the 2020 Census, the Equal Rights Amendment, the Political Gender Gap, and the Suffragists. The Journal hopes to highlight the various aspects of our 100 years of suffrage and where the next century might lead us.
Hopefully you have all enjoyed the FAWL Journal and will consider volunteering in 2020-2021.
Best regards,
Mariane Dorris, Journal Editor
