Approaching Year-End
How can it be that Thanksgiving week has arrived already? I mean Easter was just the other week and school started back yesterday – right? At least it feels that way. We just got up from a great staff meeting putting the finishing touches on our Advent plans. As we get ready to get ready for the coming of the Christ child, there will be lots of ways to be meaningfully engaged at FBC. I trust you will take advantage of them and invite some friends to join you.

Approaching year-end brings about another important focus in congregational life; the fulfillment of the current budget and presentation of a new one. In 2018 we were intentionally ambitious in setting the annual ministry goal funded at 1.35 million dollars. We have received just short of one million of that to date, representing a considerable shortfall. There have been cuts, revisions, and postponements where possible, but the bulk of our commitments and unavoidable expenses have largely remained. In response to that deficit, we need a very strong financial finish over the next five weeks. That calls for all of us to be bolder in regular giving. Family Promise Poinsettia Fundraiser
Help homeless children and their families achieve sustainable independence by purchasing your poinsettias from Family Promise! FirstKIDS Family Christmas Caroling
Our FirstKIDS Children’s Ministry is Christmas Caroling on Saturday, December 1st! We will meet at FBC at 9:30 AM for donuts and card-making and then travel to an Assisted Living Facility. If you and your children would like to attend, please sign up on the Christmas Caroling Sign-Up Page!
Monthly Church-Wide Lunch and Food Pantry Food Drive
Everyone is invited to join us for our next FREE Monthly Church-Wide Lunch on Sunday, December 2nd after Worship! Donations gladly accepted. Also, don’t forget that on that same Sunday we will collect food donations for our FBC Food Pantry!
Touching Miami with Love Boxes for Success
This year, FBC is working with Touching Miami with Love to provide boxes for Middle and High School students. Boxes for Success are to encourage students and push them toward success! Our goal is to send 100 boxes!

Items to Include:
Headphones, snacks, highlighters, colored pencils, a small notebook, pens, fun socks, flash drive, calculator, $5 gift card to fast food places,mechanical pencils
Guys: Body wash, deodorant
Girls: Lip gloss, body wash

Boxes will be available on Sunday, December 2nd. Bring your boxes with you to the Worship on Sunday, December 23rd and place on the steps to the stage in the Worship Center. We will pray over the boxes that day.
Annual Church Meeting + 2019 Budget Info Meetings
This year’s Annual Church Meeting will be held on Sunday, December 9th, following our 10:30 AM Worship Service. This meeting will include a vote on our 2019 Executive Leadership Team Members and 2019 Church Budget. Information Meetings about the 2019 Church Budget will be held at 9:15 AM on Sunday, Dec. 2nd , and 11 AM during Anchor Fellowship on Monday, Dec. 3rd, both in Heritage Hall.
Service of Hope
Our Service of Hope is a unique and helpful service for those who have experienced grief, loss, and difficult life situations. This special service will be held on Sunday, December 9th, at 3 PM in the Narthex and is led by Senior Pastor Glen Money.
FBC Choir at the Holiday Spectacular
Support our Choir by attending the Holiday Spectacular at the Palladium Theater on Monday, December 10th, starting at 7:30 PM. This event includes Christmas music from several choirs, wind ensembles and more!
