All Fort Bend ISD schools and offices will be closed next week, Nov. 25-29, for the Thanksgiving holiday break. The District will reopen and all students will return to school on Mon., Dec. 2, 2019

We have so much to be thankful for as we head into the Thanksgiving break. The past week has been full of opportunities to learn, to celebrate – and to heal.
As I prepared this message, we were preparing to return the Sugar Land 95 to their graves… the 95 individuals who were previously lost to history, buried in an unmarked and abandoned cemetery discovered nearly two years ago.

We’re all pulling for our Ridge Point High School Lady Panthers as they prepare to bring home the State 6A Volleyball Championship win! The Ridge Point community supported the team with a spirited send off to state yesterday morning. For the second consecutive year, Bush High School’s Team ANN-Tech has been named a state finalist in the annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest. The team is among only 300 selected from a pool of more than 2,000 entries nationwide. Team ANN-Tech is recognized for creating a life-saving medical bracelet.
This has been a winning semester for the Missouri City Middle School theatre team. The team's most recent win came during the 2019 Middle School One Act Play Bi-district Contest, where they won 1st place. The team advanced to the contest after being named Champion at the District competition.
The Lone Star State School Counselor Association presented Cornerstone Elementary Counselors Missy Masters and Pippa Day with a 2019-20 Bronze Award. They are among counselors from 27 school districts to earn awards this year for demonstrating excellence in school counseling programs.
Bush High School unveiled Star Awards in honor of two former principals - Dr. Shirley Rose Gilliam and Dr. Cecilia Crear - who had the distinct honor of being named FBISD Secondary Principals of the Year during their tenure. The award is a new tradition that Bush Principal Felicia James began this year.
Parent Night on Keeping Kids Safe, Dec. 10 at Pecan Grove Elementary
FBISD parents and guardians are invited to attend Pecan Grove Elementary's Parent Night on Tues., Dec. 10 to address keeping kids safe and the dangers of human trafficking. The free, adults-only event will be held at the campus (3330 Old South Dr., Richmond, 77406), from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Space is limited. Register and reserve your seat today.
