Fort Bend ISD releases statement regarding former superintendent's dismissal of claims against trustees

Former Fort Bend ISD Superintendent Dr. Christie Whitbeck dismissed her defamation claims against trustees this past Friday, conceding she cannot legally maintain her claims against them for statements made about her performance. Dr. Whitbeck continues to sue the district for alleged breach of her Voluntary Resignation Agreement.

Application to attend Reese CTE Center next year opens January 15; event to tour the center on January 28


Students who would like to attend the James Reese Career and Technical Center during the 2025-26 school year must complete an interest form, which will be open January 15 - February 10.


Fort Bend ISD students who are currently in ninth through eleventh grade are eligible to apply.

Grant In Action Spotlight: Madden Elementary’s Little Science Engineers


To help students explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities and “do science” through scientific and engineering practices, teacher Barbara McClanahan used her $1,497 grant to purchase material for her “Little Science Engineers.”


She bought science kits, a cosmic space projector, a solar system view, STEM magnets, flex seating and lab coats. When wearing the lab coats, the students can see themselves as future science engineers and are more confident, engaged and motivated to participate in hands-on activities during science investigations.
