FBISD seeks naming suggestions for consolidated campuses

Fort Bend ISD is seeking community naming suggestions for the consolidated campuses of Mission Bend/Mission Glen and Blue Ridge/Briargate elementary schools.

The nomination period is now open. The deadline to submit names for the two consolidated schools is October 7, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Nominations must be completed using an online form. The link to the form is below and on the FBISD website.

Those who wish to make a nomination must submit a written one or two-paragraph statement (no longer than 250 words) containing biographical information or historical data, and reasons justifying the suggested name. Name nominations shall generally be names of people or places.

Per Policy CW (Local), if the name of a person is to be considered, that individual should have attained prominence locally or nationally in the fields of education, science, art, statesmanship, political science, military achievement, or a Texas historical achievement. If the name of a place is to be considered, the criteria should include historical relevance. The person or place should have made a significant contribution to society and should lend prestige and status to an institution of learning.

Students, staff, and district residents may submit nominations.

Once the deadline for nominations has closed, a naming committee will consider the nominations prior to a recommendation to the FBISD Board of Trustees.
