A Message from Chief Rider

Welcome back Fort Bend ISD students, staff and families! As we begin the 2022-23 school year, I want to provide our community with a few tips and reminders so you are prepared for a safe return to school. I hope you find this information helpful.

It's been a busy summer for our team and we are eager and excited to have our students, staff and visitors back on campus.

On behalf of the FBISD Police Department, thank you for your support and partnership and I wish each of you a safe and successful school year.

See Something, Share Something

The See Something, Share Something mobile app provides students, staff and the community the ability to submit crime tips and suspicious activity anonymously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from a mobile device. The District’s first-ever mobile app empowers students, staff, and parents to play an active role in identifying and reporting suspicious activity and bullying.

What is Standard Response Protocol (SRP)?

The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is based on the response to any given situation that requires an emergency response from an FBISD campus or district facility. SRP uses specific and intentional vocabulary. The premise is simple - these five specific actions can be performed during an incident. When communicating these, the action is labeled with a "Term of Art" and is then followed by a "Directive." All FBISD schools use the SRP and perform regularly scheduled drills with students and staff.

Bicycle Safety Tips and Information

We encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of staying safe on their route to and from school. Simple reminders are often the most effective and these tips are applicable at any time of day. Please remind your child of the following:

  • Wear a helmet when riding a bicycle
  • Add a light or reflector on bicycles
  • Cyclists must obey motor vehicle laws including yielding to pedestrians, stopping for stop signs, signaling turns and traveling with the flow of traffic
  • Stop and look both ways before crossing an intersection
  • Always walk a bicycle across an intersection
  • Stay on the sidewalk rather than riding or walking in a public street whenever possible
  • Cross at a crosswalk or intersection as opposed to mid-block
  • Always look for moving vehicles
