Greetings in His Service!
The new year is often a time for reflection and to take stock of our lives. After all, the past twelve months have brought us all a healthy mix of things to celebrate and things that may have left us distraught, maybe even close to despair. Through it all, there is still much for which we can be thankful. God is still on His throne and He is not finished with us yet!

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Even with all the uncertainty surrounding COVID, we are moving quickly and successfully through the mid-year mark in our school year. By His peace and with His grace, our first two marking terms were filled with significant achievements--great student attendance, high reaching academic grades, competitive athletic teams, and fruitful charitable outreaches. FCA is blessed to serve our students by sowing the seeds for a bright and promising Christian future each and every day.
As always, we thank you for your continued prayers and support. Happy New Year!
In Faith and Friendship,
God bless,
Bryan Alvaré

Jesus
Fast Art
By Heather Hutchinson
|
|
Many years ago, I had the opportunity to worship through art at a women's retreat. I was asking God to reveal what "my Jesus" would look like and how I can portray that in a piece of artwork. As I created this piece on stage and worshiped through art, the Holy Spirit was so present and this piece of artwork has always been so close to my heart and my personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Most of the original piece was painted upside down. The glitter of the crown was by far my absolute favorite. As I first painted it with clear glue and then threw handfuls of glitter onto my piece, the image of the crown came to life. It was then, that the retreat goers saw the image of Jesus. There are just four simple brushstrokes that compose Jesus's face.
I have taught children about so many amazing artists and we have tried our hands at re-creating a few of their pieces. My hope was always that my students could re-create a piece of my artwork and what better piece to do that with than my very favorite, "My Jesus."
The students were given instruction and an array of paint markers as their tools. FCA students brought to life their very own art teacher’s beloved art pieces. It was so rewarding to see them design and paint this piece, as well as hearing them referring to it as "their Jesus." It was definitely a time of worship as well as exploring a new style of art. This was such a blessing to watch. Praise be to God.

A Visit From Go To Nations
|
On Wednesday, January 13, hosted Chris Conley and Jeremy Henderson from Go To Nations. Their mission is "to Go To Nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ until every tribe, every tongue, every nation has heard." They certainly inspired our students and staff during Chapel and in the high school Missions U class by sharing their stories and their reasons for becoming missionaries. Chris and Jeremy sowed seeds that will no doubt produce fruit for the Kingdom of God. Thank you!
