Haddock Diaper Shower
Date is in March TBD

Please be on the lookout for these few items while you are at the store since baby girl Haddock will be here soon. The family is requesting board books instead of cards, Pampers Swaddlers diapers, and Pampers Sensitive wipes. This will be super helpful to the Haddock family!

Look at the average baby diaper and wipe numbers below!! :0

Also, after baby is born be on the lookout for a food train so we can keep them fed good healthy food after baby is born!

On average baby will need:
(This is average for at least 40-80 diapers in a pack)

Newborn:  2-3 packs
Size 1:  30 packs
Size 2: 15  packs
Size 3:  30 packs
Size 4:  46 packs
Size 5:   45 packs

In baby's first month she will use an 80 count of wipes in about a week. That's a lot of wiping for mom and dad!

CHURCH YARD SALE

It is time to start your Spring cleaning a bit early this year. We are planning a church yard sale for Saturday, March 9th. All proceeds will go to support the New Communion Easter events. If you have items to donate, please gather them and hold until the week of March 4th, and we will move them right into Taylor Hall for set up of the sale. You can bring them to the church during that week, or if you need things picked up you can contact the church office, or Paul Gillespie or Lindsey Haddock to schedule. As for articles of clothing, we will accept shoes and children's clothing, but please no other adult clothing.

The Yard Sale will be open to the congregation Friday March 8th between 4pm and 7pm, and to the public March 9th between 7:30am to 1pm.

Salem College Showcase Community Concert

Sunday, March 10, at 4 p.m. students from Salem College will perform a variety of vocal and piano music.

Five Point's Farmer's Market

Starting the 1 st Friday in April First Christian Church will be hosting a Farmer's market in the parking lot from 3:30pm-5:30pm and will be inviting craft vendors on the last Friday of every month. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a vendor please email Alanna Harris at [email protected] for more information.

Applications due by April 1st!

Pick up your 2019 offering envelopes and year-end giving statements.  They are located on the table beside the library. If you would like offering envelopes and don't see any with your name on them please send a request to Alanna at [email protected].

Attendance for Worship Service

You will find a black book for members and visitors alike to sign.  Please complete your information and pass it along to the person next to you.  If you are the last person to sign the book on the row, pass it back to the beginning.  The first person who signed will remove the sheet and place it in the offering plate .

Youth Happenings

What a fun February! We joined together with three other youth groups for our first ever multi-church lock-in! 31 students from across the county participated.

This month, we will join in worshipping with the rest of the church in the Ash Wednesday service on March 6th. During the month of March, we will focus on the Lenten season leading up to Easter. Each of us will adopt a daily practice during this season that we hope will not only bring us closer to God, but also to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Peace,
Kaitlin

Crisis Control Ministry

Crisis Control Ministry is requesting INSTANT POTATOES for the month of March. This is a good staple and can be used in just about every meal.
One thing you might not realize is that with every item you bring to share,  Crisis Control  doesn't have to spend as much money to purchase food. They can use their funds to help a person pay his rent, keep the electricity on in his house,  purchase heating oil to keep warm, and even pay for expensive medications. Their request is  simple. The need is great. First Christian Church always responds.

Thank you!

Pledge Cards

If you didn't turn in your pledge card and need one you may print one off  HERE , find one on the table in the sanctuary, see Alanna in the church office, or send an email to [email protected] if you would like one emailed or mailed.

Listen to Sermons Online

You can listen to sermons online here: www.sermoncloud.com/firstchristian. A big thanks to Andy Askew for recording the sermon audio every Sunday!
Samaritan Ministries

The shelter has a year-round list of needs that are always appreciated. They especially have shortages of men's deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and socks.  Food items are canned meats and #10 size canned fruits, vegetables and applesauce. Please place your items next to the white bin in the foyer outside the office or in the church office.
