Sermon Text: Matthew 10:34-39
Sermon Title: "Get Lost"

34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth;
I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 For I have come to set a man against his father,
and a daughter against her mother,
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36 and one's foes will be members of one's own household.
37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me;
and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 and whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
39 Those who find their life will lose it,
and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.

Crisis Control Ministry

Well, the Summer season has officially started: Total is Memorial Day: I say
thank you to all who have served our country over the years.
Special days come and go, but hunger finds a place in every day.
The month of June is designated for  CANNED MEATS, such as chicken, beef, tuna, Spam, Salmon,  as Crisis Control Ministry's food of the month. This is one of the more costly foods they choose, but this is very important to the well being of the recipients. Even though I have suggested a few, anything you want to add to that list is perfectly okay.

Your faithfulness to continue with this project is overwhelming.
Thank all of you so much!  Many people have food on their tables only because of your willingness to share.

FCC will be opening as soon as July 19th, but please do not wait to bring those items you have been collecting. You can leave your donations under the shelter next to the FCC parking lot, at our double doors where the mailbox is located.
The donations will be taken to the Ministry. God's blessings!

Much love,
Becky Minnix
Christian Action Ministry
First Christian Friends,

With thankful hearts, we welcome June!

We are happy to report that we are still in operation, in solidarity with our community, as we continue to provide food and other needs during this pandemic!

Also, during this time we have been able to partner with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Hope Truck of Winston Salem and Krankies Coffee,  to provide food for senior citizens in our community that are food insecure via a food prescription program. This is a new project and we hope to provide further updates as this initiative continues and develops.

We continue to be grateful for all of your support and prayers! Please continue to bring your peanut butter and jelly.  Share this good news of the gospel with your friends and coworkers. As we continue to put faith in action, through the practice of shared abundance, with our neighbors in Winston  Salem! Donations can be brought to the church and left at the office door if the church is locked.

Peace and continued shared abundance,
Rev. David Harrison Jr. and Paul Gillespie
 #sharedabundance #hungersucks

A special word of thanks to all of our volunteers!
Without you, none of this would be possible!

If you would like to volunteer please contact Paul or David for more information.

Samaritan Ministries

The shelter has a year-round list of needs that are always appreciated. They especially have shortages of men's deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and socks.  Food items are canned meats and #10 size canned fruits, vegetables and applesauce. Please drop your donations off under the shelter next to FCC's parking lot, at our double doors with the mailbox.
