Sermon Text: John 14:15-21
Sermon Title: "If you love me..."

15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.  16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.  17 This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.
You know Him, because He abides with you, and He will be in you.

18 "I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.  19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live.  20 On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.  21 They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them."

Sunday School via Facebook

A quick live check-in at 2 p.m. each Sunday via Facebook messenger (if a new time and/or platform is decided on, I'll pass that on). Any parent wishing for their child to participate, can just message me on Facebook Messenger "Linda French Bierie"
or give me a call (336)416-5191 and ask to be added to the group.

After the live chat, I'll be sharing a video of the lesson for that Sunday. I typically incorporate some type of craft using things most people have at home.. or things they can easily print.
Youth Happenings

Hello all and Happy May -

On May 31st, we will celebrate Pentecost, a holy day that recognizes the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles. Because of this, we will spend each week in May learning about ways that the Holy Spirit helped guide the apostles during the early days of the church. We will also learn ways that we can let the Holy Spirit guide us in our own lives today.

May 3 - The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost Acts 2:1-13, 42-47
May 10 - Simon the Sorcerer Acts 8:9-25
May 17 - Saul's Conversion on the Road to Damascus Acts 9:1-19
May 24 - Conversion of Cornelius the Centurion Acts 10:24-48

Peace,
Kaitlin
Crisis Control Ministry

This is a difficult time in all our lives.  Most of us thought this  Pandemic could never happen right here in Forsyth County.  There are people without a job who might be waiting on unemployment benefits.  There are others who have a past-due notice from a utility company or a notice saying the rent is due.  For others, there  is very little food in the cupboard or a prescription is needed for a child.  Crisis Control Ministry is here to help but without our help, it is very limited.

We, as a church, have been participating in their  Food of the Month program for several years.  For the month of May, I am asking that you purchase FRUIT OR VEGETABLE JUICE  (NON-PERISHABLE.) Originally this item was TOILET PAPER but most suppliers have empty shelves.  Should the day come when it is plentiful again, and you would like to purchase it, great! Crisis Control Ministry (and I like to use the word "Ministry" because it truly is) helps many people with survival needs on any given day.  The days we are experiencing now are worse than many others.  Our church doors are still closed but they will open again soon.  Please purchase what you can, set it aside at home, and bring it to the church when we can freely return to the church and place it in the large, white box in the entry of the Education Wing.

This action is very simple and together we can make a huge difference in someone else's life.

I look forward to the day when we can see each other again.
Until then, I pray we all stay safe and healthy.

Much love,
Becky Minnix

Samaritan Ministries

The shelter has a year-round list of needs that are always appreciated. They especially have shortages of men's deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and socks.  Food items are canned meats and #10 size canned fruits, vegetables and applesauce. Please place your items next to the white bin in the foyer outside the office or in the church office.
