Sermon Text: 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13
Sermon Title: "The Right Type"
How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy that we feel before our God because of you? 10 Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you face to face and restore whatever is lacking in your faith.
11 Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you. 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you. 13 And may he so strengthen your hearts in holiness that you may be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

The shelter has a year-round
list of needs that are always appreciated!

They're especially short on men's deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors & socks. Food items: canned meats, #10-size canned fruits/vegetables & applesauce.

Please sit your donations under the shelter, next to FCC's parking lot,
at the set of double doors with a mailbox.

Proverbs 31:8-9
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy.
First Christian Family,

With thankful hearts, we welcome November!

We have a couple of tremendous opportunities to continue to support our neighbors via our holiday meal distributions and Christmas event!

Mark your calendars for November 20th and December 18th. These will be community events where we distribute holiday meals. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Pastor David or Paul! If you would like to give donations towards the feast meal, look for our donation envelopes on the welcome table in the lobby or visit our website and click the donate tab!
Also, be on the lookout in December for our Angel tree, as we hope to fulfill the Christmas lists of 25 children!!

We continue to be grateful for all of your support and prayers! Please continue to bring your peanut butter and jelly. Share this good news of the gospel with your friends and coworkers. As we continue to put faith in action, through the practice of shared abundance, with our neighbors in Winston Salem!

Peace and continued shared abundance,
Rev. David Harrison Jr. and Paul Gillespie #sharedabundance

A special word of thanks to all of our volunteers!

Christian Action Ministry

My Friends! For several years now, I have been searching each month for a different way to emphasize there are people in Winston-Salem and all of Forsyth County who do not have enough food on their tables for themselves or their families to eat. No matter what I have said or how I’ve said it, you have responded overwhelmingly and I thank you sincerely.
Crisis Control Ministry knew this fact way back in 1974. They contacted churches, ministers and congregations and told them their help was needed. First Christian Church, 2320 Country Club Road, was one of the early responders and has continued to be a strong supporter both financially and by food gifts since that time.
Crisis Control Ministry has selected flour, sugar and other baking supplies for the month of November. The upcoming holidays increase the need. These items can bring joy to a household by having the smell of cookies baking in the oven all through the house. What about a favorite pound cake for dessert and to share with a neighbor. No, I don’t have to tell you the need remains because you have been knowing it a very long time and responding to it.
In November we celebrate Thanksgiving.

I thank you for being the type of congregation who is willing to share what you have with so many others. I ask God’s blessings on all of you this Thanksgiving season!

If purchased directly from Jeanne, the cost is $25.00 which includes shipping and handling.
With the coming of Advent and Christmas, we begin to think of Poinsettias. The Worship Ministry would like to decorate our sanctuary with these beautiful plants for this special time of year.We are giving you the opportunity to purchase these flowers in memory of a loved one or in honor of a friend or relative. The cost of each Poinsettia is $14.00. Please make checks payable to First Christian Church. Indicate on the check that the purpose is to purchase Poinsettia(s). They will be red Poinsettias and displayed in the Sanctuary Dec. 12th.
