Opportunities for Fellowship & Service
Fifth Sunday in Lent - 11 a.m. Service
Sermon Text: Hebrews 5:5-10 NRSV
Sermon Title: "The Bridge"
5 So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest, but was appointed by the one who said to him,

“You are my Son,
  today I have begotten you;”

6 as he says also in another place,

“You are a priest forever,
according to the order of Melchizedek.”

7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. 8 Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered; 9 and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, 10 having been designated by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.
Praise & Worship

Prelude in C minor by C.P.E .Bach

"Lord, I Lift Your Name On High", Rick Founds
Lord I lift Your name on high
Lord I love to sing Your praises
I'm so glad You're in my life
I'm so glad You came to save us

You came from heaven to earth to show the way
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high

Lord I lift Your name on high
Lord I love to sing Your praises
I'm so glad You're in my life
I'm so glad You came to save us

You came from heaven to earth to show the way
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high

You came from heaven to earth to show the way
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high

You came from heaven to earth to show the way
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high

Special Music "There Is None Like You", Lenny LeBlanc

"God Will Make A Way", Don Moen
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to his side
With love & strength for each new day
He will make a way
He will make a way x2

PRAYER HAS DIVINE POWER TO DEMOLISH STRONGHOLDS.

"4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up
against the knowledge of God,
and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
2 Corinthians 10: 4-5

and he will reward them for what they have done.

Proverbs 31:8-9
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute.

Crisis Control Ministry
My fellow Christians,

Hi, Fellow Christians! The month of March holds the promise of Spring! I love this time of year with all the warm weather, birds testing their voices for song, early flowers beginning to raise their heads, and so many other things to enjoy. I would love to think that life for all of us would get better with all the positives that will surround us. Sadly though, everyday life will remain the same for most of us. The need for food will continue. This folks, is what Crisis Control Ministry does in Forsyth County for those who cannot do for themselves. The food items we collect every month go a long way in helping those who are in need. INSTANT GRITS is the food Crisis Control Ministry needs to help fill their pantry shelves. When you are at your favorite grocer, please purchase this food staple for others. Bring your contribution to the church between 9 and 1 Mon-Friday and place them in the white bin in the Lobby of the Administrative Wing. I know you will have a “spring” in your step upon leaving!
