San Jose, CA, February 26, 2020 – Ava Kuo has been promoted to Associate Director of Housing Development at First Community Housing (FCH), a local non-profit housing developer. “I am excited to announce the promotion of Ava from Senior Project Manager to Deputy Director of Housing Development,” notes Regina Celestin Williams, Director of Housing Development. “Ava has been with FCH for more than 4 years and has contributed greatly to her role on the Development Team by managing two of FCH's new housing developments under construction, securing competitive statewide funding for FCH's developments such as an award of Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities funding and tax-exempt bond financing, and breaking ground on a development project that had been in FCH’s pipeline for more than 10 years among other things.”
Ms. Kuo has more than 15 years of experience in affordable housing development. Prior to moving to the Bay Area in 2014, she helped to develop affordable housing in Chicago, Boston, Sacramento, Raleigh, NC, and Hyattsville, MD. She also provided technical assistance to businesses in Chicago for the region’s Clean Air Counts campaign. Her credentials include a Masters in Regional Planning from UNC Chapel Hill and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
FCH President and CEO, Geoff Morgan notes, “Over the years, Ava has gone beyond expertly managing our most difficult developments, to assuming a leadership role and the training of our project management team. It is only fitting that this leadership is recognized through her promotion.”
Ava will continue to manage some of FCH's most innovative and complex developments and to share her significant experience with the development team through mentoring and increased leadership of special projects going forward. Help us to congratulate Ava on her new promotion.
