FCLNY's Albany Legislative Luncheon

Our 2023 Albany Legislative Luncheon was a success!

According to attendees is was a "terrific event!"

FCLNY's Executive Director, Michele Sterlace, JD, LLM presented FCLNY's 2023 NYS Bill Packet: Expansive Measures Regarding the Well-Being of Women and Children. Michele informed and inspired discussion on many NYS pending and passed bills that either support or harm women and children in need.

FCLNY's newest staff member, Emily Cappello presented FCLNY's mission, activities and projects as well as our multitude of resource indexes.

We were so grateful to have had Kristen Curran Esq., Director of Governmental Relations at the New York State Catholic Conference as a guest speaker regarding topics promoting a culture of life in New York and opportunities for change.

In addition, Rev. Jason McGuire, Executive Director of New Yorker's Family Research Foundation and host of the Albany Update Podcast delivered lovely opening statements and prayer.

Our afternoon was full of riveting discussion, meet and greets with legislative representatives and FCLNY Supporters as well as a delicious lunch from the Fort Orange Club. We were elated to connect and reconnect with so many vital voices, changers and movers.

Representatives from the following legislative offices were in attendance:

  • Senator Jacob Ashby
  • Assembly Minority Leader William Barclay
  • Assemblymember Scott Bendett
  • Aseemblymember David DiPietro

Peaceprints 2023 Inaugural Client Art Show

Peaceprints of WNY is on the front lines of the social justice movement, providing incarcerated people with healthy re-entry services. This event's keynote was Valentino Dixon, who was wrongly incarcerated for 27 years, and became an inspirational artist while in prison. Valentino received a gold medal from the Vatican for his peaceful spirit and challenging journey.

Thank you Peacerints for working on behalf of fragile populations! Pictures included here were painted by individual while imprisoned.

The 12th Annual Benefit Banquet for St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center

The St. Gianna Molla Pregnancy Outreach Center serves families and life by providing material, emotional and spiritual support to mothers, fathers and families in need during and after pregnancy.

The keynote speaker was Toni McFadden, a pro-life advocate and international speaker on abortion. She is the author of the book, Redeemed: My Journey after Abortion. Toni shared her abortion story of regret with transparency while leaving her listeners with hope. She also described in detail the horrific complications she experienced from undergoing a chemical abortion.
