Does the US have Abortion Policies Similar to Communist China?

March 15th, 2025

"No culture or race should have the right to kill their children, especially based on the unborn child’s gender."

"Take for instance the state of New York, America’s second most leading abortion provider, where abortion is a constitutional right and no state law specifically bans sex-selective abortion."

Exciting Film Update!

As you may recall, FCLNY interviewed with an award winning film company at the 2024 March for Life. One of the producers just emailed this to us:

‘Girls & Gods’ which we were able to film with you in Washington DC... had its world premiere yesterday at one of the most important international documentary film festivals, the CPH:Dox in Copenhagen. It is now competing in the Human Rights section.  On behalf of the whole team, we would like to thank you again for your support and for the interesting and at the same time warm-hearted interview. As soon as we receive information from our world distributor about when the film will be released in the US, we will be in touch!

Stay tuned!

Do you have friends or family members with whom you disagree on life issues or feminism? Would you like to engage with them, but don’t know how? A Salon can be the perfect bridge to make connections. A Salon is a small group gathering (4-6 people) in a casual and intimate setting that shares food, drink and conversation about difficult topics. Salons are not debates, but a practice in civil discourse on contentious contemporary topics. They help participants both better refine their own positions on topics and understand those of others. Folks feel heard and respected in Salons.

Call to Action: Medical Aid in Dying

Please call and email your NYS Legislators and ask them to VOTE NO to the 2025 Medical Aid in Dying Act (MAID), S00138, A00136. You can find your NYS legislators and their contact information in the boxes below.

Pregnant mothers in crisis, as well as children at every stage of development - from in utero to adulthood - the aged, the infirm and the disabled deserve our finest attention and resources. Every individual possesses inherent and equal value, and the right to live free from the coercive impact of publicly sanctioned and funded lethal violence - procedures aimed at destroying human life.

Civilizations and cultures that endure and flourish don’t support the destruction of human life for any member of the human family.

  • MAID permits doctors to give qualifying people, including teenagers (18 + 19 year olds), a lethal overdose of drugs to self-administer.
  • MAID incentives death for vulnerable people, including the disabled, aged and infirm.
  • MAID disproportionately impacts women.
  • MAID normalizes suicide, especially by drug overdose.

The American Medical Association opposes MAID. The AMA clearly states that physician assisted suicide “would ultimately cause more harm than good.”

Robust research demonstrates that legalizing assisted suicide is associated with a “significant increase in total suicides,” and serves as a “threat to suicide prevention.” Data further reveals that assisted and non-assisted suicide rates increase more for women than men, where medical aid in dying is legally sanctioned.

The impacts of MAID are complex, and the subject of ongoing debate and research. Transparency is key. The pending MAID bills further threaten to harm folks, by requiring health professionals to list an illness as the 'cause of death' on MAID recipients' death certificates, rather than, or in conjunction with, a legally assisted drug overdose; severely hindering accurate research into the comprehensive effects of assisted suicide, on individuals and families in NY, the US, and worldwide.

Thank you to all who attended FCLNY's March 2025 Book and Film Club with Charles Camosy!

We discussed Charles Camosy's book: Losing our Dignity: How Secularized Medicine is Undermining Fundamental Human Equality, with the author himself.

Professor Camosy makes it clear how secularized medicine and mainstream culture discounts the humanity of so many, recognizing the value of only SOME humans, while dismissing the worth of others, ignoring- whole sale- the inherent value every human being possesses.

As pro-life feminists, FCLNY recognizes the intrinsic value and dignity of every member of the human family, from conception to natural death. No one person or group of people has the right to label and condemn 'unworthy' people to death. The most basic human right is the right to live free from violent destruction.
