There are several physicians running for public office in 2022 at both the federal and state levels.

State Senator Saud Anwar, MD, a pulmonologist in Vernon, CT is running for re-election. Dr. Anwar currently is the interim co-chair of the Public Health Committee. http://www.senatedems.ct.gov/anwar

Stepping Down After serving three terms in the State House of Representatives, William Petit, MD, an endocrinologist from Plainville, CT has decided not to run for re-election. We thank Dr, William Petit for everything he has done while serving in the State Legislature. He will be sorely missed on the Public Health Committee.
