December 2025

Happy December!

Dear FCS Families,

December brings a joyful close to a semester filled with learning, growth, and connection across Forsyth County Schools. As we approach the midpoint of the year, our students are thriving thanks to the strong partnership between our schools and families.

This month, our classrooms are alive with meaningful learning, celebrations of student success, and opportunities to reflect on how far we’ve come. We are proud of the progress our students continue to make and grateful for the support you provide every day—from encouraging good habits at home to being active partners in your child’s education.

As winter break approaches (December 22–January 5), we hope your family finds time to rest, enjoy traditions, and create special memories together. Students return for the second semester on Tuesday, January 6.

Thank you for being such an important part of our FCS community. Together, we’re building schools where every child feels safe, connected, and thriving.

Warm wishes for a wonderful holiday season,

Forsyth County Schools

An Important Safety Update

Centegix Approval

The Forsyth County Board of Education has unanimously approved the districtwide adoption of the CENTEGIX Crisis Alert system. This will include wearable safety badges for all staff and administrators, along with visual alerts installed throughout our buildings.

Student and staff safety is our priority. We look forward to sharing more information with our families in the spring.

Kindergarten Round Up Is Coming

Kindergarten student registration appointments for the 26/27 school year opens TODAY on December 10, 2025.

Each elementary school has a kindergarten registration week listed on the flyer. Any 26/27 student can register for the upcoming school year beginning May 4, 2026.

Mock Interviews - Volunteers Needed

Our students are looking forward to this opportunity as they experience how to search, prepare, and apply for a job. We are searching for interviewers from the community and would appreciate any help you can give us in finding quality volunteers.

Note: Interviewers do not have to have interviewing experience, as we will make sure they are supported and have a script to follow.

If possible, we are asking that interviewers sign up in half to full day increments. The interview for each student will be 15-20 minutes in length and geared towards their career pathway. Additionally, any employer ready to hire students may use this opportunity to actually conduct "live" interviews.

Dining With Dignity

The Forsyth County Education Foundation is an opportunity for the community to partner with Forsyth County Schools to support innovative teaching and increased student achievement. One area of focus of the Foundation is assistance for students in need through the Dining with Dignity program.

Forsyth County Schools’ School Food and Nutrition Services Department is a part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which is responsible for providing a safety net for Americans who are food-insecure and for developing and promoting dietary guidance based on scientific evidence. When a student has an unpaid meal balance that has surpassed a specific threshold, they receive an alternate meal (such as a vegetable/fruit platter).

Dining with Dignity was launched in 2019. Donations are placed in the school’s cafeteria house account to provide students with a hot meal of their choice instead of a complimentary meal. Any funds remaining in the house account will roll over to the next school year to assist additional students.

You are encouraged to donate through Dining with Dignity to provide a meal (or multiple meals) allowing all students to dine with dignity with a hot meal of their choice.

Click here to donate for students in need.

Note: You can designate this for a specific school or if you do not designate, the money will be placed in school accounts with the highest needs.

Thank you for your support of Forsyth County students and families!
