FCSI at EIIGA Chile, Casa Piedra

Fellow FCSI Members,
Hello from the last frontier of FCSI The Americas division, Santiago, Chile.
Last week was pretty amazing. For the first time ever, FCSI exhibited at a local trade show in Santiago. FCSI TA Executive Director, Wade Koehler, joined my staff and I at the EIIGA Chile Show, organized by ACHIGA, the Chilean Association of Gastronomy, per its initials in Spanish.
FCSI received great exposure within the industry, received support from our Allied Membership as well as gained at least 1 new consultant member. We are excited to report that several allied members have offered both financial and marketing support for future events in the region and we received interest from one local company to advertise in either our magazine or our Direct Connection newsletter.
Due to this success, we are exploring the possibility of hosting a regional meeting in Santiago as well as exhibiting at the 3rd Annual Food & Service Show in Chile in August 2014.
Latin America has the potential to become the largest growth area for our business in the future, so I hope you will join me in attending all major events of the region (Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Chile and many others).
Thank You to our Americas' Board of Trustees and to you, the membership, for supporting this initiative.
William Taunton
Chair Elect, FCSI The Americas

What Can ICON Do For You?
|
Current ICON members reflect on the ways that involvement in the committee has helped them in their foodservice careers:
"For me, becoming a part of FCSI and the ICON group has been an integral part in the advancement of my career. Getting involved with FCSI and the ICON group has introduced me to so many wonderful people in an industry filled with talent, forward thinkers and innovators. Its always nice to go to the events and talk with new and old faces alike. I learn something every day from my interactions and I really enjoy being involved in something I'm passionate about"
- Brett Daniel, Camacho Associates
"To me the FCSI ICON group became a gateway for me to get involved in a small committee, allowed me to feel comfortable in this new "larger" group and really opened up the rest of the FCSI world to me"
- Christine Guyott, Robert Rippe & Associates
"ICON serves as a conduit for newer and younger members to feel welcome and to get involved. It was established so that new members of the group now have someone to connect with and a way to learn about the organization in a smaller, more personal environment"
- Amy Hegarty, Foodservice Consultants Studio

Membership Directory Update!
Between work, family, friends, facebook, the latest episode of Kitchen Nightmares (and a host of other things vying for your attention) we understand how updating an FCSI member online profile gets put on the back burner. That's why we are going to help!
As some of you may know, our Member Services Coordinator, Sarah Sierszyn, has been calling Consultant members whose profiles are missing information in two key areas: Consulting Services Offered and Market Segments.
The information gathered from this 5 minute phone conversation will ensure that you remain searchable within the FCSI consultant database, allowing us to serve you better.
