Milestones in the life of a child are so important! It is our intention to recognize the start of kindergarten and middle school as milestones for our Fountain Kids. We have children that will be moving up from Fountain Littles as they begin kindergarten this year, and a number of Fountain Kids will be moving up into the Middle School Youth Program. We celebrate moving up! We will celebrate these milestones for our children by traditional gifts and visits throughout the month of August. In addition, our weekly mailings and Miss Donna and Miss Jenny's awesome videos will continue.
We are all in this together! This message of strength is provided in Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

NEWS & NOTES
THE MORE YOU KNOW
Our two produce drives were a huge success! Fountain City UMC, in association with the Society of St. Andrew and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, participated in two community produce giveaways, one in late June and one in mid-July. We distributed a total of 3,200 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to the community around the church, as well as shared produce with the Fountain City Ministry Center, the Knoxville Dream Center (Lost Sheep Ministries) and Wesley House. These drives provided over 7,500 portions of food for those who need it most. This is another great example of FCUMC doing ministry during this pandemic era. A special shout out to Doug Shipman, FCUMC Director of Food Services, as well as Becky Ripley, Susan Shipman, and Carl Ball for their help distributing the food to our community.
FCMC BACK TO SCHOOL DRIVE
The Fountain City Ministry Center has collected backpacks and tennis shoes for children in kindergarten through high school for the 2020 school year. Using Faith Promise funds, members of our Missions Committee purchased 100 pairs of shoes from Shoe Carnival for this important outreach and delivered them to the FCMC. We are so excited we are able to serve our community in this way and partner with FCMC!
PART TIME JOB OPPORTUNITIES
WITH EMERALD YOUTH
Emerald Youth is seeking applicants to fill paid, part-time roles within their organization for the upcoming academic year, including positions with their AmeriCorps program. Now more than ever, young people need positive influences in their lives, and Emerald Youth is looking for applicants who desire to serve in the city and align to the organization's values and mission.
Available positions include those who will serve directly with Knoxville's young people, as well as in supporting roles. They are looking to fill vacancies right away, so if you or someone you know is interested in applying, please do so immediately.
NO FELLOWSHIP MEALS THIS FALL
For the health and safety of all church members, we will not have Wednesday night fellowship meals this fall. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to follow the guidelines set by Holston Conference.
