HELP US WELCOME PASTOR KRISTEN AND HER FAMILY TO OUR COMMUNITY

The Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC), with the cooperation of the FCUMC front office staff, is putting together a "Welcome to Fountain City" gift basket for Pastor Kristen and her family.  While Pastor Kristen is somewhat familiar with Knoxville, she is unfamiliar with the Fountain City/North Knoxville area. The SPRC, along with other church members, thought a gift basket with local goodies would be a great way for her to get to know our community a little better during the summer months before school starts in the fall.

If you would like to contribute to the gift basket, please consider gift cards from local shops and restaurants (Pratt's, Litton's, Sam and Andy's, etc.),  t-shirts (their sizes are listed below), and little house warming gifts...things specific to this part of town. You may bring your donations to the front office through Friday, June 28. All of the items will be placed in a basket and given to Pastor Kristen and her family at the welcome reception on July 14 during the Sunday School Hour in Wesley Hall. Thank you for your generosity and please continue to pray for our newest addition to Fountain City UMC.

Shirt Sizes
Phillip - XXL
Kristen - XL
Joanna - L

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR VBS VOLUNTEERS:  MEETING AND WALK THROUGH THIS THURSDAY,   JUNE 13  FROM  6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
We will begin in the chapel for a short information session and then you will go to the area where you will be serving. Rooms will be decorated and supplies will be in the rooms. This is an opportunity for volunteers to check out the equipment, supplies and room setup. Elementary crew leaders should review their schedules and do a walk through.  Crew leaders are very important because they will be the point person  for each child in the group.

PLEASE HELP US WITH SET UP
Miss Donna is in need of folks to help set up the stage on Sunday right after the 11:00 a.m. service. Everything should be completed by 1:00 p.m.

ROAR VBS PRE-CHECK IN
When you pre-check in your child, you will receive a goody bag with a free VBS CD of music. You will also be able to simply walk your child to the front door of the church on Day 1 (Monday, June 17), show your color card, and your child will be escorted to their group. Each child (K-6) will have a colored lanyard, and each preschooler will have a new adhesive name tag each day.

Sunday, June 16, 2019         11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
If you are not available to do your own pre-check in at one of these times, you may have a friend pick up your bag, sign for you and obtain your child's color card.
You will receive a color card for each child and the cards are signed by Miss Donna. You must have this color card to pick up your children at the end of the day. If someone else is picking up your child, they must have the signed color card.

NOTABLE NEEDS
PLACES TO SERVE

A SPECIAL PLACE TO VOLUNTEER
Celebration Place, the approved Celebrate Recovery ministries curriculum for children ages 5-13, is in need of a new leader! Celebration Place provides children with the skills needed to make Jesus the foundation of their lives, break cycles of dysfunction, and join their parents in forgiveness and healing, while learning healthy coping skills for life's tough issues. Through Celebration Place, children experience the love of Jesus as they learn how to love themselves and others while they grow in their own relationship with God. If you feel called to lead or assist with this special ministry, please get in touch with Seth Charles . You won't regret answering this call to serve!

FCUMC PICTORIAL DIRECTORY COMING THIS SUMMER.
The FCUMC staff has been hard at work getting an updated version of the directory completed. Get the new directory with family photos beginning July 1.

Did you know... FCUMC is moving to a new kind of church record keeping solution called RealmĀ®? It primarily serves the administrative needs of our staff, but it also offers some exciting opportunities to support the way you are involved in our church. Not only will this improve work life for our ministry staff, it will make it easier for our church family to connect with each other, keep up with what's going on, and grow as a connected community of believers.
