FCUMC CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE PLAN
After consulting many of our church leaders, including Bishop Mary Virginia Taylor, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all worship services, classes, events and activities, including third-party meetings until Thursday, March 26. FCUMC Preschool will be closed through Friday, March 27.
Our FCUMC staff remains committed to service. In this moment, we will keep regular office hours Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. If you have a need, please let us know. Please
click here for a letter from Pastor Tom and Pastor Kristen with more details on our response plan. Thank you!
STEWARDSHIP
Stewardship of all of God's resources is a spiritual discipline. From a purely administrative view, church expenses will continue, whether or not we have corporate worship.
Collectively, we receive an average of $15,000 per week through our Sunday plate offerings, which is 62% of our total weekly gifts to the General Budget.
We hope that you will continue to give financially. There are multiple ways to accomplish this: send in via USPS mail, give online through our church website, the church Realm Connect App, stop by the church office, or you could even contact us and we'll come pick it up! If you have questions or need assistance navigating online giving, please contact our Financial Assistant, Ashley Garren in the church office. Thank you for keeping our Christian witness alive in the world as we continue to live into our mission of "Making disciples, Changing lives."

PLACES TO SERVE
UMCOR : TORNADO DISASTER RESPONSE
The churches of Holston Conference are being asked to be the power of the connection to support United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) as they respond to the devastating Tennessee Tornadoes. Here's how:
1. PRAY for those impacted by the storms, the disaster relief teams and volunteers doing what they can.
2. GIVE toward the efforts of UMCOR by writing a check to FCUMC with "UMCOR" in the memo line, knowing that 100% of your donation is going directly to relief and recovery efforts.
3. MAKE Cleaning Kits & Hygiene Kits. Click here for detailed instructions. Drop off completed kits or buckets plus cash shipping fee at the church office. The cost for shipping is $3 per bucket and $2 per Hygiene Kit. If you would like to call the church office at (865) 689-5175 when you arrive, a member of the church office staff will be happy to come out to your car to get your donations. FCUMC COLLECTION DEADLINE-MARCH 22.
UMCOR SAGER BROWN MISSION TRIP - OCTOBER 4-9
Members of FCUMC will once again make the trip to the UMCOR Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, LA. This trip will take place the week of October 4-9 and is open to all adults. Accommodations are climate-controlled dorms with beds and an excellent dining hall. You may also stay in your own RV camper. The trip will include an opportunity midweek to sightsee around the Bayou. The cost of the trip is approximately $255 plus transportation costs, which may be offset by fundraising or scholarships. The 2019 FCUMC team truly had a wonderful experience. If you are interested in going to UMCOR this fall, please contact Sandy Morgan at (865) 679-0760.
FOUNTAIN KIDS
KIDS CAN FOR CHRIST
We will be collecting food items today until 1:30 pm for Fountain City Ministry Center. On Monday we separated, counted and loaded 577 food items but we need more! We will be delivering today, as well as Tuesday, March 24 and Tuesday March 31.
WESLEY HOUSE GRANNIES
Wesley House Community Center is also in need of assistance and asking for food and monetary donations to help purchase food for Wesley House Grannies. Monetary donations should be mailed directly to Wesley House at 1719 Reynolds Street, Knoxville, 37921. Fountain Kids is collecting food items at the church and will be making take-home baskets for the Grannies. The items needed are milk, juice, peanut butter, jelly, eggs, bread, butter, cereal, rice, and canned meats. Granny baskets will be made Wednesday morning and taken to Wesley House by 2:00 pm Wednesday. Please consider making donations for these two worthy ministries!
FOUNTAIN KIDS HOME MISSION PROJECT
This is a project for families to do together at home this coming Sunday.
We have 14 bags, with sufficient supplies, for families to assemble five (5) hygiene kits from each bag. These bags can be picked up at the church office Wednesday morning before noon.
If you do not get a hygiene kit bag, we will also have bags with craft kits, cardstock and accessories for children to make cards for our two military folks, Miss Megan (who is now in Poland) and Mr. John (who is at Camp Pendleton). They can also make a card to be mailed to our seniors living alone or in assisted living. Please take one bag per child in the family. Items can be returned next week to the church.
CAMP WESLEY WOODS NEEDS OUR SUPPORT
Since 1959, God has used Camp Wesley Woods in helping kids begin relationships with Jesus and grow in their faith journeys. Out of 848 campers in 2019, 361 of them attended on some form of scholarship. We can help give the gift of camp so that every child who wishes to camp at Wesley Woods can experience the love of Christ in a unique way. A donation of $385 provides a full week of camp for a child but every gift in any amount makes a difference. Please click here to navigate to the Camp Wesley Woods website and then click on the DONATE NOW button in the top right corner to make a donation. Let's make a difference in the life of a child. And don't forget to register your child or grandchild for camp while visiting the Camp Wesley Woods website!
